These two newcomers will redefine the waterfront dining scene in the capital.
The Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and UFC 294 will be coming to Yas Island this winter, but several new dining destinations are also heading to the capital. This October, Yas Marina will welcome the grand openings of two exciting restaurants: Mr Moto and Ela Ela.
Mr Moto
As you step into Mr Moto, you’ll find yourself in a modern Japanese cocktail bar and kitchen that weaves together flavour and fun. And Mr Moto himself isn’t just a silent observer, he’s at the heart of the action, reflected in every corner of the restaurant.
The non-traditional approach to Japanese interiors offers a cosy living-room-style setting that adds to the restaurant’s unique charm. Here, music isn’t just background noise, it’s an integral part of the experience. And when it comes to drinks, Mr Moto doesn’t disappoint. Each expertly curated cocktail reflects Japan’s commitment to balance and tradition.
The versatile menu offers a variety of dishes – from spicy udon carbonara to fried Jidori hot chicken sandos, adding a delightful twist to Japanese staples. And don’t forget to save room for desserts like burnt pineapple and yuzu cheesecake.
Éla Éla
Éla Éla which means ‘come now’ in Greek, perfectly encapsulates the warm and welcoming hospitality of the Greek Islands. Drawing inspiration from the sun-drenched vistas of Crete and its surroundings, Éla Éla promises to transport diners to a place where time stands still. Here, the menu highlights include herbed cheese spanakopita, chargrilled octopus, baklava ice cream, and loukoumades. Pair your meal with Greek wines celebrating the Mediterranean’s rich viticultural heritage, or savour a cocktail that captures the zest and freshness of a European summer.
Mr Moto and Éla Éla will open their doors in October and are the latest culinary concepts from restaurateurs Hamdan Al Khafaji and Layla Kardan. They will be the power duo’s third and fourth restaurants in the city, following the success of Penelope’s and La Carnita.
So prepare to embark on a gastronomic voyage like no other with breathtaking views of the yacht-filled Yas Marina.
