The homegrown concept is expanding from Dubai and Doha.

The UAE-based Chef Izu is spreading his culinary magic. The homegrown concept GAIA is coming to the capital in 2025. The concept started in Dubai before opening in Doha, Marbella, Monaco and London

GAIA will be expanding to Abu Dhabi, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. The location for the new restaurant in the UAE capital has not yet been confirmed, but if the previous restaurants are anything to go by, diners are in for a tasty treat.

Gaia Abu Dhabi

GAIA Abu Dhabi will be a Greek meets Mediterranean concept, and the menu showcases traditional flavours and fresh ingredients. Named after the ancestral mother of all life in Greek mythology, the restaurant is great for groups and offers superb sharing dishes.

GAIA’s menu spans raw, salads, starters, mains, and sides. The starters include the GAIA Fish Soup, Greek-style meatballs, and Moussaka. The mains include the Baby Goat with rice, King Crab Stew, and Lobster Pasta with cherry tomato sauce. The restaurant boasts a seafood counter and offers guests the chance to choose their fish. Serving options include raw, grilled harissa style, and pan-fried.

Sirene Beach by GAIA

Chef Izu has worked closely with Fundamental Hospitality, and his restaurants include Alaya, La Maison Ani and Maison de la Plage. He was born in Nigeria, raised in London, and now lives in Dubai. When he lived in France, he learnt to cook French food and immersed himself in the country’s culinary scene and culture.

It is still unknown whether Gaia’s trendy nightlife spot, NYX, will follow the restaurant to the capital.
