The restaurant serves everything from khachapuri to kuchmachi.

It’s not often that you can get the taste of Georgia in the UAE. That is set to change, thanks to the Georgian restaurant Shvili. Now, it’s making its way from Dubai to Abu Dhabi, and here’s what to expect.

Shvili can already be found in Dubai Hills Mall and Nakheel Mall. The new Shvili Abu Dhabi venue will be located in The Galleria, Al Maryah Island. The menu celebrates local food from Georgia, and includes classic dishes. The menu spans hot and cold starters, khinkali, salads, khachapuri, soups, mains, kebabs, garnishes and desserts.

Starters include Dolma with lamb, Lobio with red beans and Satsivi with chicken thigh. Salads include Caesar Shvili, Georgian Vegetable Salad and Sweet Tomatoes with Tarragon and Kakhetian Oil.

If there’s one thing you order at Shvili Abu Dhabi, make it a Khachapuri. This is one of Georgia’s traditional dishes, which can be found in street food and restaurant. The dish combines leavened bread with a cheese filling, egg and toppings. It is often moulded into an oval shape, and resembles a pizza. The options include Blue Cheese and Pear, Kubdari, and Spinach and Herbs.

Main dishes include Chashushuli with stewed veal, Chakhokhbili with roast chicken, and Kuchmachi with beef giblets. Desserts include Festive Napolean Shvili, Napolean Shvili and Paklava.

Shvili Abu Dhabi prides itself on offering a family-friendly experience. The new venue will also include an interactive and educational den for children, and workshops for children of all ages.

The Galleria, Al Maryah Island, is home to a range of restaurants, from casual to fine dining concepts. Shvili will be in good culinary company, its restaurant neighbours include COYA, La Petite Maison, Zuma and the soon-to-open Isabel and Novikov Abu Dhabi.
