A touch of New York is coming to Abu Dhabi. The Italian restaurant Mezzaluna is making its way to the UAE capital, and bringing with it a long legacy. The new Mezzaluna Abu Dhabi will open in Yas Mall in January, and here’s what to expect.
Mezzaluna was born in New York and has expanded to Türkiye. The first expansion was in Istanbul, and now it will be making its debut in the UAE. With a 40-year history, it is famous for its Italian flavours, high-quality ingredients and pizzas made with 48-hour fermented dough.
The menu at Mezzaluna Abu Dhabi showcases timeless, traditional home-cooked staples of Italy. The menu spans appetisers, salads, pizzas with a light and airy texture, and the desserts include Mamma Cakes. The venue aims to be charming and cosy and make guests feel like they are visiting a home. The décor will boast earthy tones, rich wooden accents, handmade ceramics, and artwork.
Doğuş Hospitality and Retail Group are behind the expansion and oversees 90 restaurants worldwide under D.ream International. Doğuş Hospitality and Retail Group was created by Ferit Şahenk.
Giancarlo Macioce, Director of Operations, explained: “Expanding into Abu Dhabi is a big step for Mezzaluna, and we’re beyond excited to introduce our modern trattoria concept to the city’s diners. Abu Dhabi is a melting pot of dining concepts, and we can’t wait to infuse it with our signature home-style concept and be inspired by local tastes along the way”.
