The fine dining Italian restaurant is opening in Mamsha Al Saadiyat.

Sport and food might not sound like a catchy combination, but it appears to have worked for tennis’ Rafael Nadal and football’s Cristiano Ronaldo. The pair are behind the culinary concept, TOTÓ Abu Dhabi, which is set to open in March.

Located in Mamsha Al Saadiyat, TOTÓ Abu Dhabi will serve fine-dining Italian food. The concept draws inspiration from 1950s Italian cinema, cinematography, and the legendary Cinema Paradiso. The menu will combine traditional and creative dishes, and the team prides themselves on offering authentic Italian flavours. If previous menus are anything to go by, guests can expect a menu of clay pot casseroles and stews, plentiful pasta dishes, and meat and fish prepared in the wood-fired oven.

In 2020, the TOTÓ brand launched in Madrid, Spain. The sports stars are also behind the restaurant TATEL, which is already open in Beverly Hills, Doha, Mexico City and Valencia. Both brands are scheduled to open in Hotel Boulevard, Autograph Collection in Downtown Dubai this spring.

Ronaldo and Nadal are no strangers to the Middle East, and they have visited multiple times. Ronaldo plays for Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr FC, and Nadal recently launched a tennis school in Riyadh.
