It’s not often that you can get a taste of Georgia in the UAE. That is set to change, thanks to the Georgian restaurant Shvili, which has opened in The Galleria, Al Maryah Island. The menu celebrates local food from Georgia and includes classic dishes such as khItsalads, khachapuri, soups, kebabs, and desserts. If there’s one thing you should order at Shvili, make it a Khachapuri. This is one of Georgia’s traditional dishes, combining leavened bread with a cheese filling, egg and toppings. It is often moulded into an oval shape, and resembles a pizza. The options include Blue Cheese and Pear, Kubdari, and Spinach and Herbs.

Located in Yas Mall, Soraya offers a celebration of Persian cuisine and its distinct flavours. The venue blends traditional Persian cafe aesthetics with modern elements. It’s common to find cacti in the desert. Now, it has made its way to Abu Dhabi in the form of a restaurant. Cacti restaurant has opened in Marsa Al Bateen Marina and showcases international flavours with serene sea views. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The breakfast menu includes Avocado Toast, French Toast and Scrambled Eggs. The main menu spans appetisers, soups, salads, mains and desserts. Antonia Chic
Abu Dhabi is home to some of the best restaurants in the UAE. One name that stands out — and is loved by many — is Italian restaurant Antonia. This popular pizzeria has opened a licensed outpost in The Galleria at Al Maryah Island, a first for the brand. Adding a slight twist to the name, Antonia Chic embraces a fun ’60s style inside, all decked out in bold red velvet. As for the menu? Catch Seafood Grill
Known for its seafood and meat selections, Catch Seafood Grill has opened its latest branch in Abu Dhabi. The restaurant’s menu features signature dishes such as Barbecue Ribs, Boneless Bangus (Milkfish) with Mango Salsa, Chicken Barbecue Larsian, Dynamite Shrimp, Grilled Tuna Jaw, Lamb Chops and Tomahawk Steak. Eataly
Abu Dhabi just got a whole lot tastier as Eataly — the renowned Italian food market and restaurant — has opened its first outpost in the capital. This new venue in Reem Mall promises pizzas, pasta and prosciutto. There’s also an Il Gran Caffe Illy bar for you to grab a quick espresso, a Pasticceria featuring homemade pastries, a Formaggi for artisanal cheeses and pasta aplenty. From the Roman street food classic Alla Pala to tempting truffles, Eataly is a multi-faceted space that blurs the lines between dining and retail.

Le Bistro by Salmontini
Seafood fans, we have some delicious news. Le Bistro by Salmontini has opened in Le Royal Méridien Abu Dhabi following more than two decades of success in Dubai. Sport and food might not sound like a catchy combination, but it appears to have worked for tennis’ Rafael Nadal and football’s Cristiano Ronaldo. The pair are behind the culinary concept, TOTÓ Abu Dhabi, which serves fine-dining Italian food. The concept draws inspiration from 1950s Italian cinema, cinematography, and the legendary Cinema Paradiso. Bord Eau by Nicolas Isnard
Celebrity chef Nicolas Isnard has opened his new restaurants in Abu Dhabi at Shangri-La Qaryat Al Beri. Chef James Soo Yong Kim has been wowing Abu Dhabi diners with the FACT Award-winning fine-dining restaurant Les Dangereux. Now, he has opened a Korean steakhouse in Yas Mall. Mr Kim boasts a monochrome aesthetic and an industrial chic feel, including countertop dining and long tables for groups. A touch of the Amalfi Coast has swept up on Shangri-La Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi’s private beach, bringing magical Mediterranean vibes to the capital.
