The capital is going through major transformations in the hospitality sector.
The UAE is keeping things exciting. With plenty of events and new developments, however, changes are afoot in the capital’s hospitality sector.
The beloved Anantara Eastern Mangroves Abu Dhabi Hotel will be transformed into Waldorf Astoria Abu Dhabi, marking the brand’s debut in the capital and its fourth property in the UAE. Set against the backdrop of the pristine natural mangroves, this revamped resort will feature luxurious rooms, state-of-the-art facilities, and a great selection of dining concepts, including a brasserie, a rooftop restaurant, a pool lounge, and the celebrated Peacock Alley.
Waldorf Astoria Abu Dhabi will feature 167 rooms and suites, many with views of the mangroves. In addition, each guest will be assigned a Personal Concierge who will attend to every detail of their stay from pre-arrival to post-departure.
Abu Dhabi’s popular Tilal Liwa Hotel is also undergoing a major refurbishment to be reimagined as an IHG Vignette Collection property. This desert resort will feature luxury suites, a kids’ club, spa facilities, new and improved dining concepts, and curated desert experiences to cater to guests of all kinds.
In fact, the entirety of Yas Plaza hotels will fall under the IHG Vignette Collection, named Straylight Yas. This six-hotel complex will be transformed into a resort, featuring beachfront suites, private beach access and much more.
Nurai Island is also undergoing a significant facelift, upgrading its existing villas, spa, gym, beach club, and dining options. Expect more luxury villas, a ballroom, a community hub, and a new jetty to make this exclusive space accessible to more people. Once completed, it will be the largest resort of its kind in the region, cementing its status as Abu Dhabi’s ultimate luxury escape.
The famous Nobu Hotel is coming to Abu Dhabi’s Saadiyat Island as well, making its debut in the capital. This property promises to bring its signature blend of luxury hospitality and cutting-edge cuisine to the region. Opening doors in 2027, this is one hotel to keep an eye out for.
Details of when the Waldorf Astoria Abu Dhabi and upgraded properties will open are still under wraps.
