Dubai Metro Music Festival adds tunes to your travel

Twenty performers come to five metro stations.

The daily commute is about to get musical. Dubai Music Festival brings together more than 20 musicians and turns the city’s humble Metro stations into a stage. Running from 21 to 27 September, here’s how you can add a Do-Re-Mi to your journey.

Now in its fourth year, the Dubai Music Festival is organised by the Government of Dubai Media Office (GDMO) and the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). This year’s festival continues to build on its reputation as a dynamic cultural celebration, reflecting Dubai’s commitment to fostering creativity and providing exceptional experiences for its residents and visitors.

The performances take place from 5pm to 10pm at the following metro stations: BurJuman, DMCC, Mall of the Emirates, The Dubai Mall and Union. The festival showcases acoustic, string, percussion and wind instruments. Plus, fitting with the theme and proving that anything can be turned into an instrument, there will be performers making music from recycled objects.

Shaima Al Suwaidi, Director of Brand Dubai, explains: “The Dubai Metro Music Festival, which will bring together a mix of traditional and experimental musicians, classical instrumentalists and fusion musicians to entertain Dubai’s cosmopolitan community.

“One of the key highlights of the ongoing Dubai Destinations campaign, focused on showcasing the exceptional experiences, events and activities of #DubaiArtSeason, the festival reflects the city’s emergence as an international cultural hub. The event also further raises Dubai’s profile as one of the world’s best places to live and visit.”

Thank you for the music.
