Everything you need to know about Ras Al Khaimah Art Festival
The celebrations will continue for the entire month of February.
Prepare to embark on a sensory journey as Ras Al Khaimah Art unveils its much-anticipated Ras Al Khaimah Art 2024 Festival. This year’s festival, which will take place at Al Jazeera Al Hamra Heritage Village from 2 to 29 February, promises to celebrate diversity, change, and the constant evolution of the world.
With an immersive theme of ‘In Motion’, the event will feature over 100 artists and an array of events, including masterclasses, public talks, and live performances. The festival invites visitors to embrace the ever-evolving nature of the world. From generative AI to environmental movements, the Ras Al Khaimah Art 2024 Festivals aims to create a platform for dialogue between artists, authors, creatives, and the community.
A highlight is The Souq, a contemporary art exhibition and market featuring global artists and craftspeople. Another new addition is Ephemeral Whispers, a kinetic art installation symbolising unity and human interactions. Gracing the Fort Tower, this installation blends contemporary and traditional materials.
Beyond curated exhibitions, Ras Al Khaimah Art Festival offers interactive experiences and live performances. Visitors can participate in artistic workshops, ranging from wire knitting to resin ocean art.
Live Performance Saturdays promise dynamic musical experiences and stand-up comedy, while a six-part speaker series and Friday film nights offer discussions on culture, innovation, and sustainability.
The heritage dining experience, Antica Australis, is also returning with specially curated four-course menus. Featuring local organic produce and a blend of Australian and Emirati flavours, this dining experience is a must-attend event during the festival. Seatings are limited, so booking is essential.
There’s also a dedicated Pet-Friendly Weekend from 9 to 11 February that invites furry friends to explore the festival. Owners can participate in special events like pet collar/harness art, pottery name tag painting, pet photography, and pet fashion shows throughout the weekend.
