British rap star Stormzy will perform at Dubai 7s

The concert takes place in The Sevens Stadium in Dubai.

British rapper Stormzy will headline Emirates Dubai 7s. The concert takes place on 1 December at The Sevens Stadium in Dubai, and here’s how to get hold of tickets.

Stormzy, real name Michael Ebenezer Kwadjo Omari Owuo Jr, hails from London, England. In 2017, he made waves with his breakthrough album, Gang Signs & Prayer. The record was the first grime album to top the UK charts. The album won British Album of the Year at the 2018 Brit Awards. In 2019, he released his second album, Heavy Is The Head, which also topped the album charts in the UK, and achieved more than one billion global streams.

Stormzy is more than just an artist, as he has been vocal about creating opportunities for underrepresented communities. In 2018, he partnered with Penguin Random House to launch the publishing imprint, #Merky Books. In 2024, he opened the centre for young people in Croydon, Merky FC HQ. The centre includes football pitches, a state-of-the-art recording studio, and a gaming hub.

Stormzy is no stranger to the region. He has previously performed at Abu Dhabi Grand Prix after-race concerts and at RedFest 2020 in Dubai. Emirates Dubai 7s runs from 29 November to 1 December, and more headline acts are expected to be announced.

Emirates Dubai 7s Festival Director Mathew Tait said: ” Stormzy is one of the biggest names in music, and we couldn’t think of anyone better to close our biggest festival to date. The Dubai 7s is always a fun-packed weekend with something for everyone and there is no doubt that Stormzy’s impact will be huge for each one of our festival go-ers. Not only are we all excited to see Stormzy on the stage and on the padel court, but I also urge fans to stay tuned for more exciting announcements from us in the lead up to long weekend!”

This year’s Emirates Dubai 7s promises a star-studded lineup of international and local artists and DJs, delivering electrifying performances. Additional headliners and exciting updates from the worlds of rugby, cricket and F&B will be revealed as the event approaches.

Tickets to see Stormzy in Dubai at Emirates Dubai 7s are available now. General admission tickets on Friday are free. General admission tickets on Saturday and Sunday start from AED 425. A weekend pass starts from AED 550.
