The Indian comedian will be performing two shows at Zabeel Theatre.

Dubai is no stranger to hosting some of the biggest names from the world of entertainment. From legendary musicians to top-tier comedians like Frank Skinner and Jo Koy, the city has seen it all. Now, adding to this is Munawar Faruqui, whoā€™s heading to Dubai for the first time with his comedy show.

Taking place on Saturday, 22 June, Munawar is bringing his much-anticipated solo show, Dhandho, to the Zabeel Theatre in Jumeirah Zabeel Saray. With two shows lined up, the evening promises not just laughter but a hearty dose of reality, delivered with Munawarā€™s unique flair.

Hailing from Gujarat, India, Munawarā€™s story is one of rags to riches. Financial hardships forced him to leave school at a young age, after which he started working to support his family. Despite the challenges, he never lost sight of his dreams. In 2018, he took his first steps into the world of comedy, a decision that changed his life forever.

Munawarā€™s big break came in 2020 when he uploaded his first stand-up video on YouTube. The video went viral, amassing 15 million views and catapulting him into the limelight. His sharp wit and candid storytelling resonated with millions, earning him a loyal fanbase.

The following years saw Munawarā€™s star rise even higher. In 2022, he participated in and won the reality TV show Lock Upp. He continued his winning streak by clinching the title on Bigg Boss season 17 ā€“ a reinterpretation of the famous show, Big Brother ā€“ last year, despite facing numerous controversies along the way. Today, he boasts a cult following of over 14 million on Instagram.

Rooted in his personal experiences, Munawarā€™s performances are relatable and hilariously honest. And Dubai residents can now watch him live at Zabeel Theatre. While tickets for one of the two shows are sold out, you still have a chance to grab spots for the second show. So grab them while they last.
