The concert at Coca-Cola Arena will also feature Kojo Funds, Polo G and NLE Choppa.
Hip-hop fans, we have some big news. Controversial rapper 6ix9ine is coming to Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena next year – and he’s bringing friends. The event forms part of the Sundance DXB Vol. 4 – Hip-Hop Edition, and here’s how you can get your hands on tickets.
The concert was initially scheduled to take place on Saturday, 11 November before being moved to Thursday 30 November. This show was also postponed, and a new date for 2024 will be announced soon.
Known for his distinctive appearance and polarising music, Brooklyn-born rapper 6ix9ine’s rise to fame has been marked by both admiration and criticism. Known for his rainbow-coloured hair, heavily tattooed appearance, and energetic performances, 6ix9ine gained significant attention with his debut single, Gummo, which went viral in 2017. He has since released several successful songs, including FEFE and TROLLZ, which featured fellow rapper Nicki Minaj. While his off-stage antics have caused much furore, his star still appears to be on the rise.
British-Ghanaian artist Kojo Funds will join him on the night. Kojo has made significant waves in the UK music scene with his unique blend of Afrobeat, dancehall, and rap. Known for his infectious melodies, catchy hooks, and distinctive vocal delivery, his hit tracks include Dun Talkin’ and Check, a collaboration with Raye.
Polo G will also join the fun. The American rapper and songwriter from Chicago embodies raw storytelling and poignant lyrics in his tracks, which include Finer Things and Pop Out, featuring fellow Chicago rapper Lil Tjay. The popular rapper has also worked with Future, Lil Baby and Gunna.
NLE Choppa, who collaborated with Polo G on the 2020 track Go Stupid, will also take to the Coca-Cola Arena stage. The rising American rapper uses a blend of gritty street lyrics and conscious, introspective themes in his music. His stage name, NLE, stands for “No Love Entertainment,” and Choppa reflects his lyrical sharpness and skill. His hit tracks include Shotta Flow and Walk Em Down, and he’s collaborated with Latto, Lil Baby, Macklemore and Moneybagg Yo.
If you’re looking for more music events in the UAE, there are not just mega festivals but mega artists coming to the country. Upcoming concerts include Ed Sheeran at the Sevens Stadium on 19 and 20 January, and R&B superstar Khalid will perform at Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena on 2 March.
Tickets to see 6ix9ine, Kojo Funds, Polo G and NLE Choppa are on sale now and start from AED 199.
