Here’s how you can hear those powerful raps on Saturday, 29 June.
They say that good things come in threes, and for hip-hop fans, this is certainly the case. Rap legends D12, Obie Trice, and Xzibit are set to perform at Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai on Saturday, June 29 2024.
The show forms part of the “3 Twenty Anniversary Tour,” which celebrates 20 years of their most popular albums – “Cheers,” “D12 World,” and “Man Vs. Machine.”
Alvin Nathaniel Joiner, known by his stage name, Xzibit, was discovered by Dr. Dre as a rising rap prodigy in the early 2000s. The rapper rose to fame with his 2002 album “Man Vs. Machine,” executive produced by Dr. Dre, debuting at the number three spot on the Billboard 200. The album spawned the hits “Multiply” and “My Name” and featured Eminem, Snoop Dogg and comedian Eddie Griffin. Beyond music, Xzibit was the host of MTV’s ‘Cribs’ and Pimp My Ride’ and has acted in ‘CSI: Miami’ and ‘Hawaii Five-O.’
Also known as The Dirty Dozen, D12 emerged from Detroit’s hip-hop scene in 1996. Their multi-platinum album “D12 World” from 2004 remains a fan favourite and featured the hit singles “Git Up,” “How Come” and “My Band.” Eminem was the band’s former frontman. However, the current line-up, minus Slim Shady, continues to deliver powerful performances.
Obie Trice spent the early years of his career signed to Eminem’s Shady Records label, where he wrote and recorded his debut album, “Cheers,” which topped the charts worldwide. Now certified multi-platinum, “Cheers” features impressive guest features from 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes, D12, Dr. Dre, Eminem, Lloyd Banks, Nate Dogg and Timbaland. The album spawned the global smash “Got Some Teeth,” which injected fun and frivolity into the gangsta rap era.
