The K-pop festival makes its Middle Eastern debut this June.

K-pop lovers, we have some major news. The K-pop music event, Waterbomb Festival, is making its debut in Dubai. The event brings together the biggest South Korean performers and has already taken place in cities, from Hong Kong to Singapore. 

82MAJOR, CL, BIG Naughty, Jessi, Liu, PH-1, Simon Dominic, Sorn and tripleS have all been confirmed to join the star-studded lineup for the event which takes place at Dubai Festival City on 7 and 8 June 2024. CL is one of Korean music’s most prominent figures, and her hits include “People Don’t Go,” “The Baddest Female,” and “Daddy.” Plus, collaborations with Lil Yachty, Skrillex and The Black Eyed Peas.

BIG Naughty, propelled into the spotlight after his appearance on the rap competition Show Me the Money 8, has soared to stardom thanks to the tracks “Beyond Love” and “Hopeless Romantic.” PH-1 is celebrated for his seamless fusion of singing and rapping, crafting a unique sonic identity. Alongside BIG Naughty, he clinched the Music Video of the Year award for “The Purge” at the recent Korean Hip-hop Awards.

The international lineup includes Benny Benassi, DJ Snake and Nicky Romero. Influential Italian DJ and record producer Benny Benassi is known for his smash hit “Satisfaction,” DJ Snake is no stranger to the region and rose to fame with the insanely catchy “Turn Down for What” and “Lean On,” while Dutch DJ Nicky Romero is famous for the track “Toulouse.”

In 2015, Waterbomb Festival was launched by Volume Unit Entertainment. True to its name, it boasts a festive spirit, and combines music and water. Audience members are encouraged to take part in water attractions, slides and water fights. Previous sites have included bungee jumps, water cannons and zip lines, which have been used by the artists and audience.

If you cannot wait, the Waterbomb Festival is taking place around the world. The event heads to Hong Kong from 1 to 2 June, South Korea from 5 to 7 July, and Japan from 13 July to 17 August. Previous events included the performers Bam Bam, Bibi, Chungha and iKon. Upcoming events include the performers Crush, Jay Park, Jessi and Taemin. 

Waterbomb Festival Dubai

If you’re a fan of K-pop, make sure you also have Let it Rain on your radar. Taking place on 26 April at Dubai Media City, it brings together local and international talent. The headliners include the renowned K-hip-hop artists BewhY, Mac Kidd, Queen WA$ABII, Skyminhyuk, and DJ Wheel Bug, all of whom hail from South Korea.
