Malaysian comedian Nigel Ng brings his world tour to Dubai

The comic will take to the stage on Monday, 7 October.

Dubai is no stranger to hosting some of the biggest comedy sensations in the world. From Jimmy Carr to Jo Koy and Russell Peters, many have graced the city with their talent. Now, Dubai is gearing up to welcome another international comedy sensation: Nigel Ng.

Nigel Ng, popularly known as Uncle Roger, will be bringing his Haiyya World Tour to Dubai. Taking place at Dubai Opera on Monday, 7 October, this event promises an evening of uproarious laughter.

The comedian shot to fame in 2020 with Uncle Roger, a character he played in his videos. Uncle Roger was presented as a middle-aged Asian man who reviews cooking videos with a mix of humour and critique. He’s also critiqued dishes by famous chefs such as Gordon Ramsay, Jamie Oliver, and several others. Some of Nigel’s other TV appearances include BBC Food, Masterchef Singapore and Indonesia and Hell’s Kitchen as a guest.

Nigel’s stand-up career includes a nomination for the Best Newcomer Award for his sold-out show at the 2019 Edinburgh Fringe Festival and multiple sold-out performances across Europe. His TV appearances include Comedy Central’s “Stand Up Central” and “Roast Battle,” BBC Two’s “Mock The Week,” and ITV’s “Jonathan Ross Comedy Club.”

Beyond videos, Nigel also hosts the popular podcast Rice To Meet You, which discusses Asian culture. He’s currently working with Gordon Ramsay’s studio for a feature film and an animation series based on his famed character, Uncle Roger. Plus, with over 250 million views on YouTube, Nigel Ng is a comedic force to be reckoned with.

Tickets for Nigel’s Dubai show are available on Platinumlist and start at AED 195.
