A new Lebanese eatery will join the Avani family

Mediterranean cuisine and Beirut’s contemporary café culture will come together at La Sirène.

Beirut’s seaside is its crown jewel, so it comes as no surprise that it has inspired the creation of yet another restaurant in Dubai: La Sirène. The new lifestyle eatery and terrace is set to open its doors this month, bringing a piece of Lebanon to Avani Palm View Dubai Hotel & Suites. Rooted in stylish casual dining, La Sirène’s menu draws from Beirut’s contemporary café culture melded together with flavourful Mediterranean cuisine.

La Sirène

We’re told that the core specialities at La Sirène will be a marriage between tradition and modernity, playing on the Levant region’s classics with some bold and unexpected twists. A focus on seafood aside, Lebanese street food that has been stylishly refined will also make an appearance, as will classics paying tribute to the region’s deep culinary roots. Portions will be generous, while platters will be designed for sharing, inviting guests to traverse the gourmet landscape of Lebanon. La Sirène will also serve shisha, pairing this age-old practice with views of Ain Dubai, Palm Jumeirah and Burj Al Arab views from its terrace.

La Sirène

The menu features a variety of mezzes, breads and wraps, salads, fresh fish and seafood, meats, and traditional desserts like baklava. Signature dishes include a Lebanese Seabass Sayadiyah, a classic fish and rice dish with a signature roasted fish sauce, fried onions, pine nuts and, of course, sayadiyah rice. The Tiger Prawns and Avocado Salad, meanwhile, comes recommended as a starter or a light dish. Another taste of the Mediterranean Sea comes courtesy of La Sirène’s Crisp Red Snapper, which consists of a ragout of potatoes, onions, artichokes, and green olives, tomato and coriander mash, tahini and pine nuts sauce.

La Sirène

Incidentally, La Sirène’s name is derived from the French word for ‘mermaid’, which signifies the venue’s ode to the sea through authentic Lebanese cuisine and hospitality, capturing the spirit of Beirut’s urban seaside and complementing it with nostalgia-infused music and entertainment.
