The dramatic destination blends Asian and European influences.
Dubai Opera is famous for welcoming world-class acts, from dancers to DJs. Now, it is set to welcome a new restaurant, ALBA. The Pan Asian restaurant is scheduled to open in March, and here’s what you need to know.
Created by the hospitality group MetaFoodies Restaurants Management, ALBA combines Pan-Asian cuisine with European flair. The dishes are inspired by Eastern and Asian influences, from the 19th century to modern day street food.
ALBA has been designed by the award-winning architect Tristan Du Plessis. The décor is sleek and sophisticated with Japanese murals, dim lighting and wooden textures. Plus, there is a statement staircase with dramatic chandeliers.
ALBA’s food menu blends together flavours from Korea, Japan and China with modern European techniques. Chef Vladimir Chistyakov and Chef Minho Ted Shin are behind the menu. The signature dishes include Beef Yuk-Hwe with uni, caviar and truffle; Caviar and Uni with crispy seaweed; and Caviar and Wagyu Maki with delicious foie gras.
ALBA’s drinks menu brings together Asian ingredients and traditional brewing techniques. The drinks list boasts an extensive selection of sake, which has been sourced from breweries across Japan. Plus, the cocktails are a tribute to Asian mythical creatures.
MetaFoodies Restaurants Management is also behind the new French restaurant, Bisou. Located in Dubai Opera, it combines French classics with Middle Eastern influences. Plus, the concept celebrates French literature, and the spirit as well as stories from the country.
Alba is open from Monday to Thursday from 6pm to midnight, and from Friday to Sunday from midday to midnight.
