FACT loves homegrown success stories. BLU Pizzeria has opened in Sharjah’s House of Wisdom and will also be opening soon in Abu Dhabi. The much-loved pizza place is famous for its Neapolitan-inspired creations, and is spreading that joy across the UAE.
BLU Pizzeria first opened at The Souk in Dubai’s Umm Suqeim Fishing Harbour. Located on the water’s edge, the venue has indoor and outdoor tables and views of the sea. The Emirati-owned eatery specialises in sourdough Neapolitan-style pizza and prioritises quality ingredients across its concise menu of just seven items.
BLU Pizzeria draws its inspiration from Naples, Italy, which is the birthplace of the humble pizza. The wood-fired pizzas come with a range of toppings, which also have influences from the Middle East.
If the original menu is anything to go by, then diners in Sharjah are in for a tasty treat. Expect classic and creative takes on pizzas, which are great for the more curious diner. The classics range from the Burrata with basil burrata, cheese and cherry tomatoes, to the Spicy Pepperoni with cheese, parmigiano reggiano and spicy salami. The creative ones range from the Short Ribs with Black Angus shorts ribs, caramelised onions and truffle white sauce, to the Musakhan with chicken, cheese and sour cream sauce.
Sharjah’s House of Wisdom is a serene spot, which was designed by the British architecture firm, Foster + Partners. The space was built as the living legacy of the Sharjah World Book Capital. The concept aims to reimagine the library, and is a social hub for learning.
