Located in DIFC, it offers biryanis, kebabs and more.
Dubai is home to some of the world’s best Indian restaurants, from homegrown concepts to MICHELIN-starred venues. Now, it is set to welcome the new Indian restaurant, Daftar. Located in Al Fattan Currency House in DIFC, the opening date has not yet been confirmed, but here’s what we do know.
Daftar’s tagline states: “Unwind with every bite”. The concept draws inspiration from home cooking, and the spirit of Dubai. The aim is for every meal to feel like a celebration rather than a chore. In Hindi, the name of the restaurant translates to a small business office, and the teaser images online show typewriters, desks and old paintings.
The full menu for Daftar has not yet been revealed. So far, we know that the team prides itself on offering Indian comfort food. The food menu will include buttery breads, flavour-packed biryanis, and spicy kebabs. The drinks menu will include fine and rare wines and traditional Indian drinks, from kulhhad chai to Madras filter coffee.
The Daftar team includes the Founder, Isheeta Sharma; the General Manager, Gaurav Bhosle; and the Executive Chef, Sabu Panicker. The team pride themselves on offering a premium experience with authentic flavours and modern culinary techniques.
Daftar offers different spaces for different diners, from tables for two to large family gatherings. The spaces include a main dining room, private dining room, entertainment area, balcony and bar.
