The event takes place at Atlantis, The Palm in November.
Dubai is home to world-class restaurant awards, from the MICHELIN Guide to The Gualt&Millau – and, of course, the FACT Dining Awards. Now, it is set to host the Best Chef Awards 2024 at Atlantis, The Palm from 4 to 6 November.
Best Chef Awards 2024 will include a range of exciting events. Look out for pop-ups, workshops and a chance to meet celebrity chefs. The Dubai chefs and restaurants taking part include Christophe Deville, the Executive Pastry Chef of Atlantis UAE, Tetsuya Wakuda from Sagetsu at The Link, and Rita Sueidan of Maisan 15.
Cristian Gadau, co-founder of Best Chef Awards 2024, explained: “”Dubai is the place to be and was a natural choice for expanding the global footprint of The Best Chef Awards. Its reputation as a melting pot of cultures and its burgeoning status as a culinary destination aligns perfectly with our vision of global gastronomic excellence.”
How Best Chef Awards 2024 works
The Best Chef Awards 2024 ranks the world’s top 100 chefs. In 2023, the event was held in Yucatan, Mexico, and Spanish chef David Muñoz —who is behind StreetXO in Dubai—topped the list. He has been at the number one spot for three consecutive years.
A range of Dubai chefs have appeared on the list, including Himanshu Saini, the man behind the two Michelin-starred restaurant Trèsind Studio, and Gregoire Berger, who is at the helm of the one Michelin-starred restaurant Ossiano in Atlantis, The Palm. Himanshu was ranked number 27, and Gregoire was ranked number 39.
The Best Chef Awards 2024 revised its voting and ranking system. Voters come from 63 countries and include 348 chefs and 220 industry professionals. The ranking includes Three Knives, which is the best; Two Knives, which is world-class; and One Knife, which is excellent. Each chef can receive 100 to 1,000 points, and there are awards for special contributions to the culinary world.
