Ex-rapper Mutah Beale opens Bakers Field in Riyadh

Located in Hittin, the venue offers coffees, cakes and more. 

Mutah Beale has been making his mark in Saudi Arabia. The American rapper turned restaurateur is behind the concepts OKLA, Q On Da Go and the FACT award winning Smokey Beards Q. Now, he is opening the new café, Bakers Field, which can be found in Hittin, Riyadh.

Mutah posted a video on Instagram, which showcases the Bakers Field venue. He explained: “You get everything – chocolate from Switzerland, croissants, sandwiches, desserts and coffee.” He and his Smokey Beards Q partners have bought experts from around the world, from a chocolate maker in Switzerland to pastry makers from Europe. The desserts are made in-house, and the hot drink selection includes speciality coffee, drip coffee and more. 

Bakers Field is located near Mutah’s sister brand, Smokey Beards Q. The venue boasts floor to ceiling windows, lots of light and high ceilings. Spanning two floors, there is a family-friendly section upstairs. Head to the counter for the pretty pastries, freshly baked bread and speciality coffee. Plus, it includes an industrial chic look with exposed bricks, soft beige and browns and white tables. 

Mutah hails from New Jersey, United States. In 1995, he joined Outlawz, which was a group created by the rapper Tupac. The group featured on Tupac’s albums Still I Rise and Makeveli.

In 2000, they released their first album, Ride wit Us or Collide wit Us. Mutah later moved from New Jersey to Saudi Arabia and converted to Islam. Over the years, he has welcomed famous faces to his restaurant including Kanye West and Martin Lawrence.

Bakers Field is open Saturday to Thursdays from 7am to 3pm, and on Fridays from 7am to 11am, and 1pm to 3pm.
