Located in J1 Beach, the new venue celebrates Mexico.
J1 Beach is fast becoming a dining destination, and is welcoming international as well as local brands. GITANO is making its way from Tulum to Dubai, and will open in November. The restaurant showcases modern Mexican food, and here’s what to expect.
The British restaurateur James Gardner is behind GITANO. The restaurant can already be found in Mexico, New York City and Tulum. The menu celebrates Mexican cuisine. Guests can choose from 60 agave spirit labels and a variety of signature cocktails.
The concept aims to offer a glamorous day-to-night dining experience. The venue is inspired by the line “Live a little, be a gypsy, get around” from Linda and Paul McCartney’s Uncle Albert / Admiral Halsey.
James explained: “We are honoured and so excited to bring a taste of our GITANO glamour and bohemian luxury to the world’s most glamorous and vibrant community in Dubai, a city that represents a unique fusion of cultures. We cannot wait to transport our GITANO Dubai guests to a magical place on Tulum’s beaches and tropical jungles under the stars and glistening giant disco ball. GITANO Dubai will celebrate life, creativity, and connection”.
GITANO brings to life the tranquil jungles and towns of Mexico and the Yucatán Peninsula. The design blends together bohemian luxury with a tropical gypsy disco. The venue includes a beach lounge, disco ball, dining area, indoor as well as outdoor wood pergola, and rooftop bar. Plus, there are Insta-worthy views of the sunset and live entertainment.
