Sunset Hospitality Group is behind the new concept.

South Korean culture is taking over the globe, from K-pop bands to Oscar-worthy films. Now, a new Korean restaurant is heading to Dubai. Located at St. Regis Gardens on Palm Jumeirah, Hanu Dubai will be serving contemporary Korean cuisine and looks set to open in January 2025.

Hanu Dubai will be a family-friendly dining destination that is great for groups. The restaurant boasts a traditional setting and superb sharing dishes. The name refers to a Korean breed of cattle native to the country. Hanwoo beef is a rare meat used for Hanu beef. The meat is regarded as premium beef, which gives us some idea of what to expect from the menu.

The journey begins with a striking hammered bronze door, welcoming guests into a seamless fusion of traditional and modern Korean aesthetics. The interiors are thoughtfully curated, featuring dark walnut wood, intricate wooden carvings, antique Korean furniture and Korean masks. The venue is anchored around a magnificent Korean pine tree, seating 13 guests in a visually stunning setting. The main dining room accommodates 58, while a private dining room offers a more intimate experience. Guests can also enjoy al fresco dining on the terrace, shaded by a bronze and wood pergola, surrounded by lush greenery and kimchi pots.

At Hanu’s helm is Chef Kyung Soo Moon, a South Korean native from Seoul with over 24 years of global experience. He is renowned for his work at establishments such as Attiko and SUSHISAMBA. HANU’s menu is an ode to Korean culinary artistry, spotlighting premium ingredients through signature dishes like Korean Beef Tartare with Raw Red Prawns, Crispy Bulgogi, Beef Tartelette, and Kimbap hand rolls.

However, the highlight of the culinary offering is the ‘Meat Me at the Grill’ experience. Each table is equipped with a bespoke Korean charcoal grill, where skilled waitstaff prepares five premium cuts of meat. Accompanied by six condiments, this communal, family-style dining encourages guests to connect over shared moments.

St.Regis Gardens is home to a range of restaurants. The concepts currently include the FACT Dining Award Dubai winner Trèsind Studio, which reimagines Indian cuisine. Plus, the French restaurant Chez Wam, Italian restaurant Signor Sassi. Hanu will be located next to the superb steakhouse spot LEÑA and its omakase Smoked Room. Plus, a 1920s-inspired jazz bar, Aretha, is opening soon.

Sunset Hospitality Group’s concept include Azure Beach, Ammos, AURA Skypool and Lounge, Drift Beach Club, L’Amo Bistro del Mare, Mott32 Dubai, Signor SassiSUSHISAMBA and more.
