Expect comfort classics, from Deep Fried Mars to Fish Finger Butties.

What says British cuisine better than fish and chips? If you’re a fan of the humble dish, then here’s a tasty treat. Saylor’s has opened a British fish and chip shop in Dubai Hills and specialises in the classic combination.

Saylor’s prides itself on offering an authentic British fish and chip shop experience, and draws inspiration from chippies across the United Kingdom. Chef Laurie Payton explains: “We aimed to create a space where people could experience a slice of British culture through their tastebuds”. Plus, the fish comes from the north of Scotland, and cans of drinks from the United Kingdom.

Saylor’s in Dubai Hills’ is easy to spot, thanks to its lit-up logo. Inside, there is an open kitchen, so you can watch the chefs at work. The space boasts a contemporary design with teal walls, wooden tables and chairs spanning blue to orange.

Saylor’s in Dubai Hills’ menu covers classics, mains, sides and desserts. The classics include Battered Sausage, Devonshire Fishcake, and Fresh Scottish Haddock. The mains include a Cheese and Onion Pie, Fish Finger Butties, and Steak and Cheese Pie.

No meal at a chippy is complete without a sauce, and here they include curry sauce, gravy, and tartar sauce. Desserts hit the comfort food spot and range from a Bakewell Tart to Sticky Toffee Pudding and Ice Cream. Plus, there is the much-loved Deep Fried Mars Bar – for the uninitiated, this originated in Scotland and sees a chocolate bar covered in batter.

Saylor’s in Dubai Hills is open daily from midday to 11.30pm.
