Atlantis, The Palm has welcomed chef Björn Frantzén’s new restaurant. FZN is the culinary sister to Zén in Singapore, and the three MICHELIN Starred Frantzén in Stockholm. FZN offers a 27-seat fine dining experience. This space includes 13 seats around the open kitchen and a view of the chefs at work. Jamavar Dubai

With locations in Bengaluru, Chennai, Doha, London, New Delhi and Mumbai, it was only a matter of time before the Indian fine dining restaurant Jamavar opened its doors in Dubai. Taking its name from the intricate 16th-century lace shawls of Kashmir, Jamavar is known for its luxurious pan-Indian cuisine. The menu pays homage to the subcontinent, showcasing dishes from the royal kitchens, such as Kid Goat Shami Kebab, Prawns Peera, Leela’s Lobster Neeruli and Rhubarb Chuski Falooda. The food menu is superb for sharing, and dishes include Pistachio Falafel, Lamb and Kimchi Momos, Tacos Al Pastore, Beef Tenderloin O’giri, and Wagyu Tenderloin. The drinks menu includes signature cocktails, which are created by expert mixologists. Bait Maryam is one of the UAE’s much-loved Middle Eastern restaurants. The team have been awarded the MICHELIN Guide Bib Gourmand and has a firm following. Now, it has expanded and created Sufret Maryam. Located in Wasl 51, Sufret Maryam offers an elevated take on Levantine cuisine. The Palestinian chef Salam Daqqaq is at its helm and draws inspiration from her ancestorial roots. Salam was also named the Middle East & North Africa’s Best Female Chef 2023, by MENA’s 50 Best Restaurants. The restaurant is currently ranked at number 23 on the list. J’Adore

It’s time to fall in love with J’Adore. The new concept offers dinner and a show at Hilton Dubai Al Habtoor City, Dubai. Three Cuts is opening on the rooftop of Nakheel Mall, and has been created by the father and son duo, Joe and Jason Bassili. And, as the name suggests, it will specialise in three cuts of meat. The one-page menu takes you back to basics, and offers three cuts of meat: sirloin, tenderloin and ribeye. The chef’s selections ranges from Porterhouse steaks to Tomahawks. Akabeko

In Japanese, akabeko means red cow and refers to a legendary animal in the Aizu region. Now, the cow makes up Akabeko’s brand logo and can be seen placed throughout the dining room of the new restaurant in Palm West Beach. Akabeko offers a nose-to-tail dining concept and is the first Japanese A5 Wagyu-focused “Yakiniku” experience in the city. The approach ensures that every edible part of the animal is prepared and consumed, including all the “left behinds” and “secondaries”. Akabeko’s signature dishes include the Supreme Wag-Yukke — a spicy tartare topped with scallops, uni, and ikura — and the Akabeko Donburi featuring prime Wagyu steak, uni, and caviar, embellished with truffle. Fifth Flavor

FACT loves a secret restaurant. So, we were excited to uncover a new Pan Asian restaurant inside a grocery store. Fifth Flavor is located in Al Wasl Square, and it has one of the most unusual entrances we’ve ever seen.   On the outside, the venue looks like a simple shop selling Asian food and drinks. However, upon closer inspection, the drinks cooler opens up to a secret entrance. Curious diners will be rewarded at Fifth Flavor where dishes are superb for sharing, and span Pan Asian cuisine.  One of the signature drinks is  iced tea, which is served in a bag with a straw.

Izu Burger

Located in Boxpark, Izu Burger is a hip hangout. The venue from acclaimed Chef Izu Ani features an industrial aesthetic with exposed concrete and blue ceramic tiles. The décor is enhanced with concrete finishes, neon lighting and a merch stand featuring Izu branded t-shirts. The burgers are piled high, stacking patty upon patty and dripping in sauces. The signature is the Potato Bun Burger, topped with melted Emmental Swiss Cheese, signature sauce and a soft Potato Bun to soak up the juices. Elsewhere, the Izu Fries offer thick wedges of potato with a crisp skin and fluffy consistency drizzled with a spicy sauce and topped with shavings of fresh Parmigiano-Reggiano.

Describing itself as an “urban oasis,” Sienna ClubHouse has opened at the sculptural Opus. The new culinary concept blends traditional hospitality with cutting-edge digital comfort. Under the guidance of Head Chef Milos Radojcic, the menu pays homage to Mediterranean culinary traditions. Expect a fusion of tradition and innovation with dishes like the Phyllo & Feta, where crispy pastry meets creamy feta, elevated with a touch of truffle honey. Then, delight in Parmigiana di Melanzane, a tribute to Mediterranean agriculture, layering velvety aubergine with soft Fior di latte cheese, all enveloped in a tangy tomato sauce.

Alba

Created by MetaFoodies Restaurants Management, Alba combines Pan-Asian cuisine with European flair. The dishes are inspired by Eastern and Asian influences, from the 19th century to modern-day street food. The décor is sleek and sophisticated, with Japanese murals, dim lighting and wooden textures. Plus, there is a statement staircase with dramatic chandeliers. Alba’s food menu blends flavours from Korea, Japan and China with modern European techniques. Chef Vladimir Chistyakov and Chef Minho Ted Shin are behind the menu. The signature dishes include Beef Yuk-Hwe with uni, caviar and truffle; Caviar and Uni with crispy seaweed; and Caviar and Wagyu Maki with delicious foie gras.

Alusia

Alusia brings together Levantine and Andalusian cuisine. Located in Jumeirah Islands Pavilion, it boasts a beautiful waterfront location and can accommodate up to 90 people in its indoor and outdoor spaces. The menu celebrates the cuisine and culture of Andalusia and the Levant. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the dishes are superb for sharing and include Globe Artichoke, Freekah Risotto, Padron Peppers, Sauteed Gambas and Wagyu Shawarma. The desserts include Alusia Cheesecake and Kunafa. Bisou

Dubai Opera is famous for welcoming world-class acts, from dancers to DJs. Now, it has welcomed a new fine dining restaurant, Bisou. The restaurant boasts a fittingly theatrical interior with shimmering chandeliers and large-scale sculptures that look like they’ve come from the Vatican. Designed by the Interior Architect Tristan Du Plessis, the restaurant has an old-world glamour. The food and beverage menus from Chef Vladimir Chistyakov and Chef Alexander Loshinin are inspired by classic literature. The signature dishes include Bouillabaisse with Rouille and Garlic Croutons, Dates Tahina with Yuzu Black Caviar, Foie Gras Terrine with Apricots, and Lamb Shoulder served with Root Vegetables.

Daikan Izakaya

The Japanese Daikan brand is expanding from Abu Dhabi to Dubai. They have opened Daikan Izakaya to C2 in City Walk. Daikan Izakaya’s menu aims to offer an authentic Japanese experience. The menu spans starters, small plates, ramen, charcoal skewers, charcoal plates, sushi, sashimi and desserts. The ramen includes a Chef’s Special with chicken or tofu. The charcoal plates include Angus Beef Bao Ribs, Butter Garlic Prawn and Yakiniku Sliders. Daikan Izakaya takes pride in its in-house noodle production and locally sourced ingredients, ensuring the highest quality and freshness in every bowl.

HOYA can be found inside a multi-story villa in Jumeirah that feels more like a plant house or garden than a restaurant. Across each level, guests can discover different offerings, from a restaurant to a library and a garden. HOYA serves light bites and Mediterranean meals, from Burrata and Chicken Cordon Bleu to Catch of the Day and Truffle Pizza. There’s also an all-day breakfast menu, a tempting kids’ menu, and a plant shop, so you can purchase some foliage and recreate the HOYA experience at home.

Kokoro

Dubai, it’s time to roll with it. The city has welcomed its first-hand roll sushi bar, Kokoro. Located in Alserkal Avenue, the seating is on a first-come, first-served basis and currently does not take reservations. The design is simple yet sleek, from the wooden door with a discreet logo to the floor-to-ceiling windows. If you want the full experience, we recommend grabbing a countertop seat and watching the chefs at work in the kitchen. Kokoro’s menu boasts fresh fish and the options include Bluefin Tuna with pickled cucumber, Ikura, Janpachi, Madai, Salmon with white ponzu, Scallop with orange, Seaweed Salad, Shima Aji, and Uni.

Loona

Pizza and pasta fans, get ready to gorge. A new Italian restaurant from Moscow has opened in Dubai, and it gives comfort food an upgrade. Located in Vida Residences Downtown, Loona boasts beige to brown interiors with a soft golden hue. The concept prides itself on its high-quality ingredients, which include 24-month-aged parmigiano reggiano, Caputo flour, cold-pressed Lorenzo olive oil and organic eggs. Plus, it’s all about fresh flavours, as the pizza and pasta dough is prepared in-house. The creative pizzas include A La Tartufo, Eel Stracciatella and Gorgonzola and Pear. The pastas are made with durum wheat flour and organic eggs in front of the guests. The dishes include Calamarata with Crab, Ravioli with Duck, Tagliolini with Truffle and an Insta-worthy risotto encased in edible gold.

Pitfire Pizza Dubai Hills

This new Pitfire Pizza Dubai Hills branch — like the four others — promises a casual and inviting ambience. What makes this Pitfire different is that it’s the first one in the UAE to be licensed. Pitfire Pizza Dubai Hills will not only serve their legendary artisanal sourdough pizzas but also cocktails and craft beers. The menu includes favourites found in its other outlets, such as The Hipster, Spudnick and FACT favourite, The Palm. However, the Dubai Hills location also features menu items that are not found elsewhere.

Nestled in Dunya Tower, just behind Address Dubai Mall, Qartuli invites guests to experience Georgian culture through its authentic cuisine and warm hospitality. Antique cutlery, glasses, and mismatched plates adorn the space, creating a nostalgic yet inviting atmosphere. The menu at Qartuli boasts a plethora of authentic Georgian dishes. Ralph’s Coffee

If fashion is your cup of tea, it’s time to put on your designer shoes and strut to the Mall of the Emirates. Ralph Lauren has opened Ralph’s Coffee in Dubai, marking the debut of the brand’s café in the UAE. The café is a stylish spot with Insta credentials, while the décor reflects the brand’s all-American, college-kid look and includes a green and white aesthetic. Dishes are served in custom-made China and include the brand’s name italicised across the cups. The savoury dishes range from a Caesar Salad with Chicken to a Tuna Melt. The sweet dishes include a Carrot Cake, New York Cheesecake, Old Fashioned Chocolate Cake, Peanut Butter and Jelly Cookie, and Ralph’s Brownie.

RARE

Prepare for a meat feast as City Walk’s new steakhouse, RARE, is now open. This licensed venue blends European influences with a dash of New York flair and the timeless allure of Parisian brasseries. With 130 seats, Rare offers an inviting outdoor terrace adorned with tropical greenery and intimate booth seating. The menu is divided into nibbles, oysters and caviar, appetisers, steaks, mains and desserts, offering elevated takes on steakhouse classics. Highlights include bone marrow on toast, burrata with tomato and fig relish, and ox tongue salad with smoked tomato. SHIMA

One Palm Jumeirah Dorchester Collection is home to SHIMA. The new Japanese restaurant offers beachfront dining and beautiful views. Chef Koyi Tanabe is behind the culinary concept, which showcases Japanese flavours while taking an avant-garde approach to its menu. SHIMA’s signature plates range from the Chutoro Sogigiri, which combines scallops, mizuna leaves, and spicy soybean paste, to the Hamachi Nigiri with mentaiko sauce, garlic confit and yuzu skin. Dubai diners are flocking to Birds on the 63rd floor of Address Downtown. The inaugural performance at this new dinner show is Sky Lake, and, as the name suggests, it blends movements from ballet with avant-garde choreography. Chef Alexander Raylyan, who has worked on BIRDS’ previous projects, brings a menu of King Crab with Soba Matcha Noodles and Japanese Wagyu Tataki with White Asparagus to Dubai.

Located on Palm West Beach, the luxurious beach club has been created by Chef Izu Ani and brings the spirit of the French Riviera to Dubai. The space boasts day beds, cabanas, a pool with a bridge and a restaurant. Signature dishes on the menu include the Izu Burger, Grilled Octopus, Lobster Linguine, Marinated Lamb Cutlets and Snails with butter and anchovies. Maison de la Plage is open from 10am to 2am. Smoked Room

Created by Chef Dani García, Smoked Room pays homage to the fire style of cooking. Smoked Room is the sister restaurant to Leña and draws inspiration from its original restaurant in Madrid, which holds two MICHELIN Stars. The new restaurant on the 74th floor of SLS Dubai Hotel & Residences showcases Eastern European cuisine with a modern twist. In Georgian, tamada refers to a toastmaster at a feast or a wedding, and the menu includes dishes ranging from Fois Gras and Duck Terrine, Wagyu Tartar Toast, and Poached Lobster and Truffle Roll to 12-hour Braised Beef Cheek, Oven-baked whole Maine Lobster and Pavlova.
