Restaurants have long been moving between the UK and the UAE. Now, the Italian restaurant Il Gattopardo will move from London to Dubai and open in ICD Brookfield Place on 7 December. It will bring a touch of the Italian Riviera to the city. 

The hospitality group D.ream is behind the expansion. Its portfolio includes the restaurants Amazónico, COYA, Zuma, and Il Gattopardo. The original restaurant is located on Albemarle Street, Mayfair, and it will now open on the 51st floor of ICD Brookfield Place in DIFC, Dubai. 

Il Gattopardo Dubai

Il Gattopardo aims to create a timeless Italian dining experience. Drawing inspiration from the 1960s, the restaurant’s name translates to the leopard. Lázaro Rosa-Violán is behind the design, which will boast a sultry sophistication. The entrance will include an ornate leopard sculpture and leopard patterns. Plus, there will be a stunning Dubai skyline and the Burj Khalifa.

Executive Chef Massimo Pasquarelli hails from Abruzzo, Italy, and brings over 25 years of experience to the kitchen. The menu will feature a modern take on classic dishes from across the regions and showcase seasonal ingredients and local produce. 

Il Gattopardo Dubai

Antipasti dishes include Bufala with buffalo mozzarella and heirloom tomatoes, and Tartufo with truffle mascarpone, caramelised onions and truffle shavings. Pastas include Astice with lobster and linguine, and Sorrentina with potato gnocchi with mozzarella and tomato. Sharing dishes include Milanese, Pollo Cacciatora and Risotto.

Head Pastry Chef Galileo Reposo hails from Milan, Italy. Desserts include Maritozzo, which are brioche buns with chocolate custard and light chantilly cream, and Coppa Gelato with espresso ganache, vanilla and hazelnut ice cream. 

Il Gattopardo Dubai

Il Gattopardo offers a day-to-night experience. The bar menu draws inspiration from Italian films, and the wine list includes bottles from Piedmont and Tuscany. The lounge will be home to the resident DJ, and the soundtrack includes Italian hits, retro pop, swing, and classic songs.

Il Gattopardo’s restaurant will be open from daily from 12pm to 3pm and from 7pm to 1:30am, and the lounge will be open from 12pm to 1.30am.
