Located in Jumeirah, it has been created by the same team as Backyard and Heal.
Chopsticks at the ready. A new Japanese restaurant is coming to Dubai. Located in Jumeirah, Ikayu offers a modern Japanese experience, which offers a twist on trending dishes. So, if you’re looking for a new sleek spot, here’s what you need to know.
Ikayu in Dubai is open for lunch and dinner. Dishes include Tuna Tataki with tuna, avocado, onion, and a soy-ginger dressing. Prawn Tempura Maki combines crispy prawn tempura with unagi sauce. Soft Shell Crab Maki comes with shichimi aioli, tobiko, tare sauce and avocado. Plus, Wagyu Beef Anticuchos comes with beef, panca sauce, crispy onion and coriander mayonnaise.
Ikayu in Dubai draws its inspiration from nature, and is adorned with materials include stone, raw plaster, and wooden seating areas. The design is muted and minimalist with soft browns and beiges, and light grey walls. Look out for the little details, for example, the knives with the brand’s logo.
Mohamed Kharbash, who is one of the creators behind Ikayu, explained: “As the owner of Heal and Backyard, I am excited to introduce our newly launched Japanese concept to our valued guests. Our focus is not just on exquisite food but also on creating a worthwhile, immersive experience that engages all the senses. We invite you to join us and savour the rich traditions and innovative flavours of Japanese fusion cuisine, crafted with the same dedication to excellence that defines Heal and Backyard.”
Ikayu is open daily from midday to midnight.
