Let the chef take charge at this omakase experience.
Does the sound of sushi get your mouth watering? Well, you’re in luck. Iki Sushi Dubai, a Japanese omakase concept, is bringing a touch of exclusivity to Dubai’s dining scene. So, if you have a spare one thousand dirhams to spare, here’s what you need to know.
Iki Sushi Dubai is built around Japan’s iki concept, which dates back to the Edo period. The iki aesthetic translates to cool and chic, but also originality and spontaneity. Think of it as a carefully constructed yet simple experience.
Iki Sushi Dubai aims to provide an exclusive dining experience. The vibe is a cross between a private dining room and a supper club, as there are limited numbers of people per sitting.
Exclusivity doesn’t come cheap. The Kyo menu starts from AED 1,000 and includes three appetisers, 10 pieces of sushi, miso soup, maki rolls and an omelette. The Miyako menu starts from AED 1,500 and includes five appetisers, 11 pieces of sushi, miso soup, maki rolls and an omelette.
Chef Koji Sakawa is behind the menu. He has a career spanning almost 40 years and has worked in Dubai and Japan. He is best known for his omakase sushi, which translates to “I’ll leave it up to you”.
