The restaurant can already be found in Dubai’s Dar Wasl Mall.

Sharjah, you’re in for a tasty treat. The Persian restaurant Berenjak is making its way from London to Sharjah. Located in Al Jada, this marks the second opening for the brand in the UAE.

In 2018, Berenjak first opened in London. The concept draws inspiration from hole-in-the-wall eateries in Tehran, Iran. The brand can be found in London’s Borough and Soho. In 2023, it expanded to the UAE and opened in Dubai’s Dar Wasl Mall.

Berenjak prides itself on its traditional take on Persian cuisine. The menu spans noon o mazeh, kebabs, khoresht, makhsoos, sofreh and Shireen. The dishes include Ghormeh Sabzi with lamb, Torshi Hafebijar with cauliflower, and Zereshk Polow Ba Morgh with chicken.

Kian Samyani, Founder of Berenjak, explained: “Like many Persian families in London, most of my childhood memories were made around the dinner table, where household dishes become life-long favourites – every Persian will tell you that their mum’s cooking is the best.

“With Berenjak I wanted to evoke those feelings, and reinterpret signature dishes using seasonal British produce. Spices, dips, pickles and handfuls of herbs are the flavours of my childhood. For me, it wouldn’t be a Persian dinner without sitting elbow-to-elbow with friends and family, sharing each dish until every scrap has gone”.

Berenjak Sharjah is open from Monday to Thursday from noon to 5pm, 6pm to 11.30pm; Friday to Sunday from noon to 12.30am; and Sunday from noon to 11.30pm.
