Foodies, you don’t have to wait long for it to land in Mall of the Emirates.

Dubai is welcoming the MICHELIN Starred concept, Konjiki Hototogisu. Coming all the way from Japan, it will be located in Mall of the Emirates – and we’re excited. Scheduled to open from 15 June, here’s what we know about one of the world’s most famous ramen restaurants.

In 2006, Sobahouse Konjiki Hototogisu was opened by Chef Atsushi Yamamoto in Tokyo, Japan. The humble eight-seater restaurant is tucked away in a quiet alleyway of Shibuya. Despite this, it has earned international recognition, from fans to awards.

In 2019, it proved that comfort food can be critically acclaimed, as it became the third ramen restaurant in the world to get a MICHELIN Star. Over Chef Atsushi’s career, he has been awarded the prestigious Tokyo Michelin Bib Gourmand title for four consecutive years. Plus, Ramen Walker named the restaurant the number one Ramen restaurant in Japan twice.

The sister restaurant Konjiki Hototogisu opened in Singapore, and now it is coming to Dubai. While details of the Dubai menu have not yet been revealed, if the Singapore and Tokyo menu are anything to go by, we’re in for a treat. Chef Atsushi prides himself on high-quality ingredients, and has a meticulous approach to cooking.

We’re expecting Konjiki Hototogisu in Dubai to serve the signature Shouyu Soba, which is made from two types of soup stock: wa-dashi and hamaguri clam dashi, and topped with truffle sauce and porcini oil. Other highlights include the Shoyu Hamaguri Soup Ramen, Tonkotsu Original Ramen, Tonkotsu Smoked Pepper Ramen and Tonkotsu Spicy Ramen.

Konjiki Hototogisu, our mouths are watering.
