The concept combines culture and flavours from the Mediterranean.

If you suffer from food envy when ordering, we’d suggest heading to MEDA Tapas + Bar. The new venue has opened in Taj Dubai, and the sharing concept covers terrific tapas. Drawing its inspiration from the Mediterranean, here’s what we know about the new restaurant in Dubai.

MEDA Tapas + Bar exudes a contemporary chic décor. The restaurant is located on the first floor of Taj Dubai, Business Bay. The menu has been created by Chef Mario Fico, who was previously the Head Chef at Zuma. He has drawn inspiration from the crossroads of cultures, and the flavours of Italy, Greece and Spain.

The restaurant prides itself on its freshly sourced ingredients. The menu covers raw, hot and cold tapas, main courses and desserts. The pretty plates look Insta-worthy, thanks to the picture-ready garnishes – a delicately placed truffle, anyone? We spotted blow torch finishes, dry ice presentation and those truffle shavings.

The dishes include Carpaccio with thinly sliced seabass and raspberries, Seabream Ceviche with corn, olives and red onion, and Tuna Tartare in a filo pastry cone with avocado cream. The mains include Calamarata Lobster Pasta, Lamb Rack and Truffle Ravioli. Plus, we spotted fluffy Loukoumade for dessert.

The venue boasts a light, airy ambience, thanks to the white tablecloths and chairs. The clean aesthetic is punctuated by potted plants and green chairs. Plus, there are black and white photos on the wall of the Mediterranean.

There are currently three Taj hotels in Dubai. The hotels include Taj Dubai, Taj Jumeirah Lake Towers and Taj Exotica Resort & Spa on Palm Jumeirah. The latter opened in spring 2022, and is a luxury beachfront resort houses 325 rooms and suites, and an array of culinary experiences.

MEDA Tapas + Bar is open daily from noon to midnight.
