Lights, camera, food. Netflix series Somebody Feed Phil is coming to Dubai, and it has got our mouths watering. Season seven will be landing on 1 March on the streamer, and here’s what you need to know.
Somebody Feed Phil follows the presenter, Philip Rosenthal. Born in New York, United States, he has previously worked as a producer on the show Everybody Loves Raymond. Now, he is a famous face in food and travel, and his previous show includes I’ll Have What Phil’s Having.
In 2018, Somebody Feed Phil was launched and featured cities including Bangkok, London, Mexico City, Philadelphia, Saigon, Singapore and Venice. He has rarely come to the Middle East, and now he will be heading to Dubai.
In the new trailer for Somebody Feed Phil, he can be seen in Dubai. He visits restaurants, a desert safari and tries camel milk chocolate. Bringing his own wonder and wit to the commentary, he comes out with laugh out loud lines: “You know what I want to say? You can really taste the camel.”
The Dubai restaurant Orfali Bros can be seen in the show, and it features one of the founders. Phil shares: “Today, I’m lucky enough to have Mohammad cook just for me.” The restaurant was recently awarded the number one restaurant in MENA’s 50 Best Restaurants 2024.
Somebody Feed Phil also sees Phil travelling to Iceland, Kyoto, Mumbai, Orlando, Taipei, Scotland and Washington DC. He tries strange dishes, from a foie gras candle to brain curry.
He explains: “It’s just a baby step outside my comfort zone, and this whole beautiful world was waiting.”
