Aleksandr Orlov and Reif Othman are behind the concept.
The Lana – Dorchester Collection is home to a range of dazzling dining destinations. Now, it is set to welcome Dragonfly Dubai, which has been created by Bulldozer Group. FACT broke the news about the site being under construction, and now we have more details.
Dragonfly’s concept has been created with the group’s chairman Aleksandr Orlov and MICHELIN Guide-selected chef Reif Othman. The kitchen will be led by the renowned chef, Vladimir Kim. Scheduled to open in the autumn, it will showcase Japanese flavours fused with Pan-Asian cuisine. In Japanese culture, dragonflies symbolise transformation and renewal, and this idea of metamorphosis is embedded in the restaurant.
The menu at Dragonfly Dubai draws inspiration from Asian markets. The signature dishes include the Beijing Duck, Bikini Sandwich with otoro and black caviar, and Duck Gyoza with foie gras and cherry hoisin sauce.
Guests will be able to take their pick from more than 80 sake and shochu options, and one of the widest selections of Japanese whiskies in the region. Plus, there will be a sake sommelier on hand to guide guests through the collection.
Overlooking the stunning Dubai skyline and Burj Khalifa, Dragonfly combines traditional Asian elements with a modern aesthetic. The features include vases, Kokeshi dolls, a central red glass bar and a dramatic dragonfly sculpture. Plus, the entertainment will include guest DJs.
The Lana marks the first opening for the Dorchester Collection in the Middle East. Spanning 30 floors, the building is connected by a central podium, The Lana Promenade at Dorchester which will be home to eight dining destinations. So far, only China Tang and Dragonfly have been revealed.
Founder and Chairman of Bulldozer Group, Alexander Orlov, shared a video on Instagram, which showed the site under construction.
The restaurants inThe Lana – Dorchester Collection include two concepts run by the French Chef, Jean Imbert.
