ÒAK in Dubai: Ignite your tastebuds at the woodfire restaurant

Located in Umm Sequim, the new restaurant opens on 19 December.

Dubai’s dining scene is heating up. ÒAK, an Asian-inspired woodfire concept, is coming to Umm Sequim. Opening on 19 December, it brings together a restaurant and lounge and looks set to be a buzzing hotspot.

ÒAK’s restaurant showcases Southeast Asian dishes and draws inspiration from Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Thai cuisine. The team pride themselves on using binchotan charcoal to create the dishes. The dramatic dining space boasts an open kitchen, which takes centre stage. Dishes are cooked over the custom charcoal as well as a woodfire grill, which ensures the items are bursting with flavours.

ÒAK’s menu spans Asian-inspired tapas, robata dishes, a selection of skewers, seafood and meat. Plus, buns, burgers, rice, pasta, salads and vegetables. The signature dishes include Grilled Beef Short Rib, which is prepared over charcoal, and Woodfire Roasted Cauliflower. Plus, the desserts include the Pineapple Kakigori with vanilla whipped cream and pandan jelly atop a grilled pineapple.

The mixologists have worked their magic on the cocktail list. The drinks include an Amaretto Sticky Rice, Matcha Affogato, Miso Espresso Martini, and Tokyo Sour and Lapsang Old Fashioned.

Founders of ÒAK Mohammad Zehri and Basil Hamshari explained: “We are thrilled to introduce ÒAK to Dubai. We have carefully crafted a dining and lounge experience that brings together the rich traditions of the East with a modern touch. We invite everyone to join us on this gastronomic and sensory journey, where culinary excellence and captivating ambience meet.”

ÒAK in Dubai is open from Monday to Sunday from 1pm to midnight.
