Prepare for a meat feast as City Walk’s new steakhouse, RARE, is now open. This licensed venue blends European influences with a dash of New York flair and the timeless allure of Parisian brasseries.

Spanning 130 seats, Rare offers an expansive sanctuary for discerning diners. From the inviting outdoor terrace adorned with tropical greenery to the intimate booth seating within, every corner exudes warmth and sophistication. The pièce de résistance, however, is a striking bar counter beckoning guests to indulge in a pre-dinner libation, setting the stage for an extraordinary dining experience.

RARE

The menu is divided into nibbles, oysters and caviar, appetisers, steaks, mains and desserts, offering elevated takes on steakhouse classics. Highlights include bone marrow on toast with pickled onion and mushroom (AED 48), burrata with tomato and fig relish (AED 81) and ox tongue salad with smoked tomato (AED 62).

At the heart of Rare lies its devotion to steak. Delight in a curated selection of the finest classic cuts (available in small and large portions), each meticulously prepared on charcoal and paired with spirits that promise to elevate every bite. Indulge in the succulent oyster blade paired with pebre and Amarillo chilli, or savour the striploin complemented by wasabi cream. Or go grand with the 1.4kg Tomahawk or 600g Chateaubriand served with sides of crispy Brussels sprouts, mac and cheese or panko onion rings.

RARE

The delightful desserts include malt parfait with torched cherry meringue (AED 59), toffee and date cake with whiskey caramel and salted tallow ice cream (AED 61), and whipped burnt cheesecake (AED 58).

Behind this culinary marvel is Sahil Anand, a third-culture kid born in Bombay and raised in Dubai. Despite initially aspiring to be a baker and patissier, Anand found his calling in sales and marketing. His journey led him to traverse diverse cultures and gastronomy, ultimately cementing his place in the ever-evolving F&B industry.

Following the success of his first venture, CMP Bar & Grill at The Pointe, Anand is venturing into new culinary territory with RARE. Collaborating with chefs Jesse Blake and Ryan Bernardo, Anand aims to create an intimate haven where people feel at home, savour quality food, and revel in life’s rare moments. His vision is to transform the ordinary into the exceptional.

C2 City Walk is also home to the Azerbaijani restaurant Baku Cafe, the entertainment bar Brass Monkey, the popular ramen joint Daikan Izakaya, and the FACT Award winners Mythos Urban Greek Eatery and Nola Bijou Bistro & Bar.
