The menu is overseen by celebrity chef-restaurateur, Reif Othman.
It’s been a slow summer, but Dubai’s latest culinary destination – SMOKD Eatery – is shaking things up. And it’s the man behind the menu that makes it even more exciting: chef Reif Othman of REIF Japanese Kushiyaki fame. Smoked flavours meet feng shui principles at this new eatery on Al Wasl road; the restaurant has opened its doors at Boxpark.
Serving modern Creole dishes inspired by the cuisine and vibe of New Orleans, SMOKD Eatery promises to elevate the typical casual dining experience. “The creation and launch of SMOKD Eatery have been an immensely fulfilling expedition, encompassing the entire spectrum from inception to opening, and we aim to offer the Dubai dining scene an invigorating and multi-dimensional experience using modern Creole creations,” says Sherief Elmoslemany, the Managing Partner of SMOKD Eatery.
Curated by Othman, the menu is an ode to the culinary arts and Creole flavours, and includes a delightful array of starters that are set to tease the taste buds. Guests can enjoy Cauliflower Popcorn with Yoghurt Ranch, Pastrami Carpaccio with Tuna Sauce and Crispy Capers, and Baked Bone Marrow with Burnt Ends Brisket Tartar. As for those dining in groups? The ‘Trays to Share’ span the likes of Salmon Pan Seared with Jalapeno Cream and Raisin Chimichurri, Spaghetti with Crabmeat & Kombu, and Smoked Prime Ribs topped with roasted pumpkin seeds and served with a butternut squash puree.
Stepping into SMOKD Eatery is said to be a sensory experience in and of itself, with the interiors designed by Studio Tsubi, a premier UAE-based design firm known for its mindful designs that incorporate feng shui principles. Inspired by nature and colour, the space has been crafted as a positive space washed in hues of terracotta and mint green, and filled with fun and functional elements.
SMOKD Eatery accommodates 52 indoor and 26 outdoor diners. “Our goal is to bring people together to celebrate good food, good company, and the simple joys of life, much like the ambience in New Orleans and their ‘Big Easy’ way of being,” added Elmoslemany.
