Summer Restaurant Week is bringing food, glorious food to Dubai. Running from 23 August to 1 September, it showcases a range of restaurants, from MICHELIN Starred concepts to celebrity chefs – and, of course, FACT Dining Award winners. The event includes dinner, deals and discounts. Eat your way around the town with these ten delectable dining deals.
11Woodfire
MICHELIN Starred marvel 11Woodfire set the Dubai dining scene alight. Drawing inspiration from hunter and gatherers, it showcases fire-inspired dishes. The concept was created by Singaporean chef Akmal Anuar, who is behind the likes of 3Fils. The team prides itself on using high-quality, carefully sourced ingredients. Our favourite dishes include Pine Smoked Scottish Salmon, The Atlantic Sea Bass and Burnt Cheesecake. Two-course lunch: AED 95. Three-course dinner: AED 150.
Andaliman
If you’re new to Indonesian food, head to Andaliman in One&Only One Za’abeel. Led by Indonesian Chef de Cuisine Ismawan Dzabir, the team prides itself on offering authentic dishes with a modern twist. The menu features tempting dishes, from flavour-packed sambals to grilled dishes. Two-course lunch: AED 95. Three-course dinner: AED 150.
Arabian Tea House
Arabian Tea House is a must for Emirati cuisine. Located in the Jumeirah Archeological Site, it draws inspiration from the past. The popular place includes white rattan chase, lace curtains and pretty plants. The menu is superb for sharing and dishes include Biriyani Deyay, Machboos Deyay and Saloona Laham. Beefbar Dubai
Meat lovers will be falling knife over fork for Beefbar. As the name suggests, it’s all about beef, glorious beef. The menu includes exclusive imported beef cuts and there’s a gold steak for the gram, but it is not a pretentious dining experience. Instead, it aims to change your expectations about the classic steakhouse – look out for cheeky emoji print on the plates. Two-course lunch: AED 95. Three-course dinner: AED 150.
Cucina
Cucina at Marriott Resort Palm Jumeirah fuses old-school Italian charm with a contemporary flair. Located on Palm West Beach, dishes can be shared. Take your pick from handmade pasta, risotto and artisanal pizza. Mains span Veal Milanese to Brasato Lento di Capra. Two-course lunch: AED 95. Three-course dinner: AED 150.
Lana Lusa
The taste of Lisbon has landed in Dubai, thanks to Lana Lusa. The restaurant prides itself on using traditional Portuguese recipes. The dishes include oven-cooked Duck Rice, Salted Cod Fish and Pastel De Nata. Two-course lunch: AED 95. Three-course dinner: AED 150.
Lila Taqueria
Lila Taqueria on Jumeirah Beach Road is popular with foodies. The wood-fired taqueria showcases Mexican street food. Take your pick from tostadas to tacos, and wood-frilled sharing dishes including Carne Asada and Pescado A La Talla. Two-course lunch: AED 95. Three-course dinner: AED 150.
RARE
RARE is a sophisticated steakhouse in City Walk. The recently opened restaurant fuses together elements of New York bars with Parisian brasseries. Chef Ryan Bernando is at the helm, and has put together a European-inspired menu with marvellous meats and classic cuts. Highlights include Fried Olives with crumbled feta, Seared Tuna Crudo with anchovy soy and a beautiful brown butter béarnaise, and the Ox Tongue Salad. Two-course lunch: AED 95. REIF Japanese Kushiyaki
Reif Othman is one of Dubai’s dining scene’s homegrown success stories. At the FACT Dining Awards Dubai 2022, he was awarded the first-ever Chef of the Year. His self-titled restaurant, Reif, can be found in Time Out Market Dubai, and offers Japanese cuisine with a Singaporean twist. The Japanese Roasted Green Tea Brulee is popular. Sirali
Sirali in Al Habtoor City has been impressing diners with its Turkish dishes. The menu spans beef, chicken, kebabs, salads and more. Dishes from the stone oven range from Pomegranate and Walnut Lahmachun to Turkish Pide with Cubed Meat. The desserts are traditional and range from Katmer with Turkish Ice Cream to Kunafah.
