The region’s first okonomiyaki restaurant will open in DAMAC Hills

JIMOTO restaurant is opening soon.

DAMAC Hills is fast becoming a dining destination. Located in Dubai, JIMOTO describes itself as the region’s first okonomiyaki restaurant, which translates to as you like it. So, if you’re after a dining experience with a difference, here’s what you need to know.

JIMOTO draws inspiration from Japan, and the name itself translates to local and home. In an Instagram post, the team stated: “We chose this name because we wanted to create a second home town for yourself when you came to JIMOTO.”

Specialising in okonomiyaki food, it is a chance to experience the pan-fried street food. The pancake-style dish consists of wheat flour batter and other ingredients cooked on an iron plate. The dish often includes cabbage, meat and seafood, and toppings include aonori, katsuobushi, mayonnaise and pickled ginger.

JIMOTO has not yet unveiled its design and décor. Yet, the social media posts hint at what we can expect. The logo includes paper lanterns in white and red, which reflects the Japanese flag. The symbol is considered auspicious, and there is traditional calligraphy.

DAMAC Hills is home to a range of restaurants. The concepts range from Fire Lake Grill House and ISSEI Peruvian Restaurant to Vietnamese Foodies.

The opening date for JIMOTO okonomiyaki restaurant has not yet been confirmed.
