Jason Atherton will open the new restaurant in Mayfair.
British chef Jason Atherton has played an influential role in Dubai’s dining scene. At the MICHELIN Guide Dubai 2024 ceremony, he was awarded two MICHELIN Stars for his new restaurant, Row on 45. The restaurant is located in Dubai Marina, and the concept will soon be coming to London.
The ceremony took place at One&Only One Za’abeel on 4 July. At the ceremony, Jason was overcome with emotion. He shared: “It’s just a dream come true. It takes a lot to stay in the kitchen for 36 years. It’s no mean feat to work tirelessly and maintain standards for our guests. It’s a dream come true.
“The city of Dubai has been so kind to me. I fell in love in Dubai, and I got married here. And now, I finally received our two MICHELIN stars in the city. The way Dubai has evolved after the last 20 years is just incredible – you are wonderful people.”
Row on 45 is expanding from Dubai to London, and opening at Pollen Street Social. Located in Mayfair, the restaurant was Jason’s first venture after working with the Gordon Ramsay group. Now, it is closing at the end of July, and there have been rumours about what will open in its place. At MICHELIN Guide 2024, Jason confirmed that Row on 45 will take over the new location.
Row on 45 opened in September 2023. FACT predicted the upcoming award, and stated that it was a MICHELIN Starred restaurant in waiting. Located in Grosvenor House, A Luxury Collection Hotel, Dubai it offers a 17-course menu and is a gastronomic gamechanger. The name draws its inspiration from Savile Row in London. And, what sets the concept apart is that it offers a truly tailored experience with different courses in different rooms.
