The resort features the largest swimming pool in Ras Al Khaimah.

When it comes to finding the perfect getaway in the UAE, Ras Al Khaimah is a top choice. With its stunning landscapes and luxurious accommodations, it’s a hotel haven for those seeking relaxation and adventure. One of the latest jewels in its property portfolio is the Sofitel Al Hamra Beach Resort, formerly the Hilton Al Hamra Beach & Golf Resort. This five-star haven promises a blend of luxury and tranquillity, making it an ideal spot for a great escape.

First impressions

Located within Al Hamra Village, Sofitel Al Hamra Beach Resort greets you with an exterior that evokes an Arabian fort. As you enter the lobby, you’re immediately enveloped in an inviting atmosphere. The decor honours Ras Al Khaimah’s rich history, blending local culture and French elegance, with white features accented by a colourful palette of mustard, blues, and emerald greens.

To the left, you’ll notice a stunning 3D wall of octagons and triangles that adds depth to the space and acts as a modern mashrabiya, while ample seating arrangements invite you to sink into the plush sofas and chairs, designed for comfort. Marble table tops and floral arrangements enhance the overall ambience, and a wooden trolley awaits you with complimentary dates and Arabic coffee. To your right, a series of kiosks makes up the front desk, and if you venture further, you’ll find seating by the windows that overlook the pool and the resort’s waterfall, which is sure to be a hit on Instagram.

Simplicity in stay

Sofitel Al Hamra Beach Resort boasts 292 rooms, including 47 suites, which means one needs a buggy to explore the expansive property. It features a main building that houses the guest rooms, while the villas offer a more luxurious experience. For those looking to indulge, the executive suites come complete with their own exclusive terrace.

FACT checked into a luxury room on the first floor of a beachfront villa that houses five more rooms. As we stepped inside, we were struck by the simplicity of the accommodation. The room opened to a corridor with a wardrobe on the left featuring chic beige wooden doors with black accents. On the right, the bathroom boasted double vanities and double rain showers enclosed behind glass doors. A similar separation was made for the toilet, ensuring that the layout was both practical and spacious.

The room also featured a beautifully designed closet housing a stocked minibar. Adjacent was a mounted LED TV and a sleek black wooden study table paired with a plush orange-patterned chair. The king bed with a backlit headboard featuring woven beige textures was complemented by side tables and lamps that added to the room’s chic ambience. Artwork lit above the bed brought a bit of Ras Al Khaima’s history to this otherwise modern room.

Sliding doors led to the private balcony, which offered a wooden table and chairs — perfect for an in-room yet outdoor dining experience. A two-seater couch also took space, providing an ideal spot for morning coffee or evening relaxation while enjoying the beautiful beach views ahead.

Sofitel Al Hamra Beach Resort boasts several dining concepts. Only East, Citron Lounge and Veritas Wine Bar are currently open for day to night dining and drinks. But the property is all set to welcome Blend & Squeeze Juice Bar, French restaurant Reunion, Polynesian hotspot Waka and Club Millesime to its portfolio soon.
