The World’s 50 Best Hotels have been unveiled – and two of them are in Dubai

Capella Bangkok in Thailand was named the best hotel in the world. 


Hotel aficionados, we have some exciting news. The World’s 50 Best Hotels have been unveiled for the second time. Capella Bangkok in Thailand was named the number-one hotel in the world. Passalacqua on
Lake Como in Italy was named number two, and Rosewood Hong Kong was named number three. 

The World’s 50 Best Hotels held its lavish awards ceremony at London’s Guildhall. The event brought together industry experts, hoteliers and journalists from across the world. The winners were compiled by a voting panel, which consisted of 580 anonymous experts.

The highest-ranking hotels in London were Claridge’s at number 11, Raffles London at The OWO at number 13 and The Connaught at number 46. The highest-ranking hotels in the Middle East were Six Senses Zighy Bay in Oman at number 46, The Lana – Dorchester Collection in Dubai at number 23 and Atlantis The Royal in Dubai at number 9. 

Jumping up the list by 35 places, Atlantis The Royal is a cutting-edge establishment that was meticulously crafted to push the boundaries of imagination and redefine ultra-luxury travel. With a selection of 795 exquisitely designed rooms, suites, and signature penthouses, this resort promises a tailored selection of awe-inspiring experiences. Here, guests can plunge into sky pools that seem to touch the heavens, marvel at fire-breathing fountains, or dine at several celebrity chef-fronted restaurants.

Having opened in February 2023, The Lana is The Dorchester Collection’s first hotel in the Middle East. The hotel brings together blockbuster chefs and Insta-worthy views in a central city location. Spanning 30 floors, the property is connected by a central podium, The Lana Promenade, and is home to 225 rooms and suites. Chefs Angelo Musa, Jean Imbert and Martín Berasategui have brought their MICHELIN magic to Dubai and head up four of the eight on-site dining concepts, including the modern Mediterranean restaurant, Riviera, the Basque restaurant, Jara and rooftop bar, High Society. The hotel is also home to the first Dior Spa in the region.

Special awards were given out during the night. The Lost Explorer Best Beach Hotel Award was given to Soneva Fushi in the Maldives. The SevenRooms Icon Award was given to Sonia Cheng, CEO of Rosewood Hotel Group. Bulgari Tokyo was given the Nikka Best New Hotel Award. Aman Hotels was awarded the Ferrari Trento Most Admired Hotel Group Award 2024 and the Flor de Caña Eco Hotel Award was given to Maroma in Mexico.
