The venue includes an Asian tea room by day, and a speakeasy by night.
Dubai is home to world-class bars, which range from luxurious to laid-back places. Now, it is set to welcome a quirky concept, thanks to GABA in Dubai Marina. The venue is hidden away, and leads to an Asian tea room.
By daylight, the tea room exudes calm sophistication, offering a handpicked collection of premium Asian teas served through traditional ceremonies. At the heart of the offering is a menu infused with GABA, prized for its wellness properties and calming effects.
But as night falls, the energy shifts. Moody lighting sets the tone as the venue transforms into a clandestine speakeasy reminiscent of an exclusive Asian social club. Think plush interiors, vintage accents, and statement pop-art installations designed to spark curiosity and conversation.
The drinks programme leans into refinement, with a focus on craftsmanship and minimalism. Expect cocktails that let premium spirits, rare Japanese whiskies, and prestige Champagnes take centre stage.
On Instagram, GABA in Dubai has been teasing audiences about what to expect. The concept draws inspiration from private members’ clubs in Asia, which offer a high-end experience.
One promotional video gives a preview of the aesthetic and includes images of calligraphy. One post shows an image of a matchbox with a Chinese-like dragon. The caption reads: “Grab a matchbox to discover VIP access to the Gaba Bar. Stay tuned for updates”.
GABA in Dubai has been created by the team behind Chaihona No 1 by Vasilchuki. The Russian restaurant first opened at Dubai Marina, and then expanded to The Greens. The Dubai Marina restaurant is located on Dubai Marina Walk and boasts Insta-worthy views of luxury yachts, waterways and buildings.
Vasilchuki Restaurant Group is behind the restaurant. Alexey and Dmitry Vasilchuk founded the group, which has more than 120 projects around the world. Plus, Chaihona means room for tea in Chinese, and refers to tea houses.
