The Suite Life

Palazzo Versace Dubai features 150 luxuriously appointed rooms and 65 suites designed for the luxury traveller. Our abode during our stay is one of the beautiful Grand Suites, and the accommodation certainly delivers upon the grandeur of its name. We enter into a spacious living area with a dining table and comfortable seating in front of a large flat-screen television. Parquet flooring gives way to plush rugs, while thick Versace patterned curtains drape seductively over the windows, inviting us to gaze out over one of the hotel’s three swimming pools and across the waters of the creek.

The bedroom is inviting and homely while still offering distinct touches of Versace craftsmanship. A super king-size bed with Versace linen takes pride of place in the centre of the room and is flanked by the wooden chest of draws topped with elegant table lamps. A spacious dressing area features a walk-in wardrobe and Hollywood-style vanity table, while marble-clad bathrooms offer deep tubs backed by exquisite mosaics and a separate walk-in rainfall shower.

The Grand Suites clock in at a more than generous 130 SQM and are bathed in an abundance of natural light, offering the ideal place to escape from the city and luxuriate in style.

Elevated Eating

Palazzo Versace Dubai is a trendsetting hotel, not only in terms of its relationship to the world of fashion but as a dining destination in its own right. Each of the hotel’s restaurants and bars provides diners with unique culinary concepts and have been purposefully designed to have an al fresco terrace. Reflecting the heritage of Palazzos in Italy, where the inner courtyard represents an informal space to meet, dine and enjoy the weather.

Palazzo Versace Dubai Mosaico

Mosaico is a discreet and fashionable spot for afternoon tea accompanied by live music, while Q’s Bar and Lounge offers a late-night venue that showcases performances from emerging artists handpicked by Quincy Jones himself.

All-day dining restaurant Giardino serves an expansive and rather decadent breakfast buffet each morning in an airy space inspired by the jungle motif of the Versace wallpaper collection. The colourful restaurant also plays host to arguably the most family-friendly Friday brunch in Dubai, complete with kids activities, entertainment and an abundance of delicious food options.

The hotel’s upmarket Italian restaurant, Vanitas, exudes a sense of sophistication through its elegant interiors and picturesque backdrop of the Dubai Creek, alongside impeccably laid tables topped with pressed white table cloths and sparkling glassware. We must confess to being immediately taken with the crockery and cutlery which contain the Versace logo – the head of mythical Greek figure Medusa. The multi-faceted restaurant space works for both a romantic date night or an early dinner with the family and features a menu of classic Italian food prepared with finesse. Menu highlights include the Burrata L’Artigiana, Carpaccio di Manzo and Pizza Al Tartufo, all executed with stylish perfection and bursting with authentic Italian flavours.

Winner of the ‘Best Middle Eastern and North African restaurant’ at the Fact Dining Awards Dubai 2020, Enigma is a restaurant that should be high on your dining bucket list. Not only are the setting and service exquisite, reflecting the glamour and pizzaz for which the Versace brand is known, but the food is transforming perceptions of Persian cuisine. The concise menu has been conceived by Executive Chef Mansour Memarian, the first Iranian to ever head up a Michelin-starred restaurant. Embracing the robust flavours, intense aromas and homely characteristics of Persian cuisine, the food is injected with a contemporary touch and diners will relish the flavours of Persian kababs and luscious stews. We’d highly recommend the Kabab Kubide, two delicious skewers of minced lamb prepared over charcoal with a seductive drizzle of saffron and playful desserts such as traditional Turkish Baklavah topped with candy floss or the colourful Faludeh.

Fashionable Facilities

The expansive property which stretches out along the banks of Dubai Creek is reminiscent of a 16th century Italian Palace and has been designed as a Neoclassical masterpiece, featuring subtle traces of Arabian architecture. The hotel is truly symbolic of the Versace lifestyle and when it comes to facilities and recreation, there is so much to explore amongst the manicured gardens. With three swimming pools, you can quite literally follow the path of the sun throughout the day, though the effortlessly stylish La Piscina and East Pool with its bougainvillaea structures and inviting shallow waters would be our preference.

We found ourselves relaxing at the 1000sqm spa, with its has seven treatment rooms, a spa suite, and two Moroccan Hammams. Relaxation areas feature plunge pools in an environment the resembles a starry night sky, steam rooms, saunas and heated relaxation beds. The new Amber Essence massage is not to be missed and draws on ancient Moroccan secrets to enhance the body and relax the spirit with the soothing heat of the Paillettes d’Ambre candle. The hour-long treatment is ideal for releasing tension, loosening up joints and regaining elasticity in the skin.
