Have a laugh with Russell Kane

British comedian Russell Kane will be jetting back into Dubai for a headline show. The brand-new tour will see Russell bring his high-energy, high-octane, and hyper-active style back to the QE2, a venue he sold out last January. The comedian made history by becoming the first comedian to clinch both the Edinburgh Comedy Award and the Melbourne Comedy Festival’s Barry Award in the same year. He is known for his dynamic style and topical commentary, so prepare for an evening of comedic rants, known as Kaneings.

Qabu by Paco Morales at The Link has introduced two experiential menus curated by Chef Paco Morales in collaboration with Chef Paola Gualandi. Watch Sister Act: The Musical

Rejoice, Sister Act: The Musical is coming to The Arts Center at NYU Abu Dhabi. The Musical will be performed by Abu Dhabi’s Choral Group. Established in 1977, the group brings together 15 nationalities and has put on more than 75 shows. Based on the film which starred Whoopie Goldberg, Sister Act follows Deloris Van Cartier. After she witnesses a crime, she seeks refuge in a convent. The former nightclub singer has to disguise herself as a nun – with hilarious results. On the way, she transforms the choir from a traditional group to singing sensations. The story covers themes of friendship, redemption, and the power of music to bring people together. Available from 6 to 8 June.

Make a splash

The K-pop music event, Waterbomb Festival, is making its debut in Dubai. This event will combine music and water, and audience members are encouraged to take part in water attractions, slides and water fights. Previous sites have included bungee jumps, water cannons and zip lines, which have been used by the artists and audience. 82-Major, AL, CL, DJ Snake, PH-1 and SORN have all been confirmed to join the star-studded lineup on Saturday, 8 June. Witness motorsports mayhem

Abu Dhabi, start your engines. The world-famous Monster Jam returns to Etihad Arena on Yas Island from 8 to 9 June. In the action-packed competition, world-class drivers will show off their skills. The FACT award-winning restaurant Dinner by Heston Blumenthal has recently launched its first-ever Sunday lunch experience at Atlantis The Royal. Start your meal with Meat Fruit, a clever chicken liver parfait disguised as a mandarin, before tucking into Hay Smoked Salmon and Tomato Salamagundy.
