The Lebanese circus group is returning to the city this October.
Roll up, roll up. The circus is coming to town. Cirque du Liban’s Pluma is heading back to Dubai in October 2024. If you want to catch the Lebanese group’s latest show, here’s what you need to know.
Cirque du Liban’s Pluma describes itself as a grand tapestry of wonder. The name means feather in Latin and embodies the show’s theme of flight. The tagline is: “Welcome to a world where we all fly”.
Cirque du Liban previously made a splash in the UAE with its show Fontana. The group were the Middle East’s first travelling water circus, visiting Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia. The Pluma show takes place in a tailormade Aquatic Theatre, and offers a bigger and bolder experience than its previous run.
Pluma unfolds an enchanting narrative of self-discovery and empowerment, introducing audiences to the captivating journey of Pluma, a young girl fueled by dreams of flight. In the tradition of Fontana, guests will witness the spectacle of acrobats gracefully defying gravity, soaring through the air with unparalleled precision. Prepare for laughter as Pluma’s clowns will bring humour to the grand circus tent while daredevils perform death-defying stunts.
Cirque du Liban is famous for its thrilling theatrics, which are fun-filled and family-friendly. The group’s previous shows have included musical fountains, motorcycle stunts, aerialists, dancers, and old-school clowns.
If you’re looking for more events in the UAE, there are not just mega festivals but mega artists coming to the country. British band Kasabian will rock the emirate on 13 October, American rapper Wiz Khalifa will take the stage on 16 November, Jared Leto’s Thirty Seconds to Mars will perform on 12 December, and Ricky Martin will perform on 14 December.
Cirque du Liban’s Pluma will be performed from 2 to 20 October 2024. Tickets are priced from AED 95 and are currently available via Platinumlist.
