The island boasts DJs, pool bars and water sports.

Is Polynesia on your travel hit list? Well, it might be closer than you imagine, thanks to Dubai’s latest development. Moana Island – no relation to the Disney movie – has opened on World Islands, and it’s a beautiful beach club with a restaurant, pool and Insta-worthy views. So, if you’re looking for a dreamy daycation, here’s what you need to know.

Moana Island is a short boat ride away from Dubai’s mainland, and transfers are arranged by Riviera Yachts. Moana is a fitting name for the location – in Hawaiian, moana means ocean, sea and expansive water, and the location is surrounded by stunning sea views.

Moana Island is a playground for adults, as it hosts live events throughout the year. The island welcomes local and international DJs. Previous acts include Dubai’s very own DJ Bliss, plus Aykut Aslan, DJ Slim and Serdar Adali.

At Moana Island, guests can choose to chill by the pool or go on an adventure. The island boasts an extensive range of water sports, which include diving, kayaking and windsurfing. Plus, it encourages fun – we spotted plenty of giant floaties in the form of fruit, ranging from pineapples to watermelons.

The UAE knocks out megaproject after megaproject, but The World Islands is one of its most ambitious developments to date. The 300 man-made islands are shaped into the world’s continents, and another highlight is The Heart of Europe, home to Anantara World Islands Dubai Resort and the Cote d’Azur Hotel

Moana Island is open daily from 10am to 8pm. Check in with FACT for the latest news.
