The pop-up will this year take place at 25hours Hotel One Central.

The UAE is home to many majlis that host iftar and suhoor during the month of Ramadan. This year, Not a Majlis, a concept by Not A Space, is making its way to 25hours Hotel One Central.

Located within One Central, atop the sixth floor of the 25hours Hotel, Not a Majlis is a special pop-up that promises a laid-back setting and an array of entertainment options. Be it live music, views of the Museum of the Future or the company of friends gathered together to play a game of backgammon, this spot is poised to become a favourite this Ramadan.

Not A Majlis at 25hours Hotel will feature a setting similar to a Middle Eastern household. With patterned rugs and seating akin to those found in an actual majlis, this spot has plenty to offer. Indulge in drinks ranging from coffees to hot chocolates and food such as burgers, pasta and much more.

The family-friendly features include modern and traditional games, from board games to video games. We’re talking PlayStations with multiple controllers, so you can let out your competitive streak. We also spotted bean bags for lounging and illuminated decorations, from a moon decorated in fairy lights to lit-up walls.

Last time, Not a Majlis was held in 2023 at Souk Madinat Jumeirah. Prior to that, its parent-concept, Not A Space, was located in Al Faya in Sharjah. The concept has since been rebranded for Ramadan and adopted a new playful title. So, if you’re after an old-school majlis with a difference, this is well worth a visit.

If you want to visit Not A Majlis, it’s only open for a short time. The pop-up is open daily from 6.30pm to 3am and runs until the end of Ramadan.

Ramadan Kareem.
