Things have changed somewhat since the original Oktoberfest, which celebrated the marriage of the crown prince of Bavaria in 1810. However, Oktoberfest festivities remain strong over 200 years later. This is how to celebrate the world’s largest folk festival, Oktoberfest, in Dubai.
Barasti
Raise your steins because you don’t need to head to Germany for an Oktoberfest extravaganza. Barasti Beach Bar is bringing the biggest and boldest Oktoberfest celebration to the city, complete with large steins of beer, a variety of German sausages, and a live oompah band. Whether you’re after Käse Spätzle smothered in cheese sauce or roasted German bratwurst with a tangy tomato and curry sauce, Barasti has you covered. Ernst
Prepare your Lederhosen and Dirndls because Oktoberfest is making a triumphant return to Ernst Biergarten at 25hours Hotel One Central this month. The expansive restaurant is pulling out all the stops to ensure every guest enjoys a Bavarian experience, with a line-up of live bands from Germany. Diners can enjoy a menu of baby chicken, bratwurst, lamb roast, sauerkraut and veal schnitzel. Drink highlights include the three-litre beer tower for AED 275 and the thirty-litre Viking Keg for AED 2,500. Available from 19 September until 27 October.

Oktoberfest is back at garden on 8. The rooftop restaurant will host a massive celebration featuring hearty German-inspired dishes and plenty of ice-cold brews. The festivities kick off on 25 October with an Oktoberfest Quiz Night at 8pm. On 26 and 27 October there will be live performances from 8pm, and on 28 October, the garden turns into a fan zone for the Bayern Munich vs. Bayer Leverkusen match at 7:30pm. Tuck into veal bratwurst with grainy mustard and sauerkraut (AED 55) or chicken schnitzel with potato salad and lemon (AED 75).

Grand Hyatt Dubai
The city’s biggest Oktoberfest celebration is back in town, celebrating 16 years of epic fun. Prepare to be transported to the lively streets of Bavaria with a spread that includes pretzels, bratwursts and schnitzels. Pair these German delights with beers, wines, and an array of house beverages. Raise your glasses and toast ‘prost’ with friends and family as you dance to the lively tunes of Munich’s Die Kirchdorfer Oktoberfest Band. Available from 10 to 27 October. Harvesters
Join the Oktoberfest celebrations at Harvesters in Millennium Plaza Downtown Hotel and indulge in a Bavarian feast. Enjoy the venue’s Paulaner promotion, where you can purchase a pint but receive a litre of beer for AED 55. A special menu will showcase traditional German favourites like Apple Strudel, Bratwurst in a Blanket, and Chicken Schnitzel. Available from 21 September to 30 October.

Saffron
Atlantis, The Palm’s epic party brunch, will transform into an Oktoberfest extravaganza. Tuck into German classics like currywurst, whole cured Ibérico ham leg, and hähnchenschnitzel with a sunny-side-up egg. Beverage stations will serve up Oktoberfest-themed drinks, including German beer, frozen cocktails, spirits, and house wine. Bavarian dancers and live DJs will keep the vibe alive all afternoon. The Eloquent Elephant
The gastropub at Taj Dubai is bringing the spirit of Munich to Dubai with its lively Oktoberfest celebrations. The specially crafted menu features an array of traditional dishes, including a Bavarian Angus Beef Pot Roast, Seared Sausages, and Wagyu Beef Frikadelle. Expect traditional Oktoberfest décor, staff dressed in dirndls and lederhosen shorts, and offers on hops. Available from 21 September to 6 October, from 12pm to 11:30pm.
