Dubai Sports Council launches a rating system for Dubai gyms

The new star rating system will rank gyms like hotels.

People in Dubai, your gym experience is about to get a makeover because the Dubai Sports Council just dropped some super cool news. Soon, a system for rating Dubai gyms and fitness centres all over the city will be implemented, which means you’ll be able to choose the perfect gym for yourself without any hassle. The Dubai Sports Council has teamed up with international experts to create this awesome new system that’s all about evaluating and rating fitness centres based on international standards. You know how hotels have star ratings? Well, now gyms are getting in on the action.

This groundbreaking initiative marks the first-time gym facilities will be evaluated using a star rating system. Each gym will be judged based on how they measure up against a set of criteria, and then they’ll get a shiny star rating. And if a gym gets a lower rating, it’ll get a detailed plan to level up its game – think of it as Ofsted for Dubai gyms.

As for the evaluation, it officially kicks off with results in October and a comprehensive set of criteria has been developed to assess the gyms across various aspects. The criteria includes safety measures, instructor-to-member ratio, instructor certification, personal training services, member retention rate, membership tracking systems, group fitness classes, community engagement, anti-doping awareness, physical activity readiness questionnaire, nutrition offerings, parking availability and overall satisfaction among members and staff.
