Connect with nature, the sunset, and overnight yoga.
It’s time to start practising your downward dog. Sharjah’s Mleiha Desert is opening a yoga retreat, which includes rejuvenating and relaxing experiences. So, if you want to get your wellness on, here’s how to feel zen.
Mleiha Archaeological Centre is organising the yoga retreat, which takes place in the serene and stunning desert. The retreats are scheduled for 27 January, 17 February, and 9 March. The 17 February session is a mixed event, while the 27 January and 9 March sessions are for ladies only.
Sharjah’s Mleiha Desert’s yoga retreat includes an extensive range of experiences: yoga, meditation, star gazing, camping and more. Visitors can choose from Sunset Yoga to Overnight Yoga packages, which make the most of the dramatic desert setting. Visitors will learn breathing exercises, grounding movements and mindful practices, which synchronise the body and mind with the setting sun.
Sharjah’s Mleiha Desert’s yoga retreat takes a holistic approach to the experiences. It’s not just about yoga classes, but connecting with nature. The stargazing session is carried out by an expert guide, and is followed by a BBQ dinner. Plus, it concludes with a peaceful meditation session around the bonfire.
Mleiha Archaeological Centre offers a range of exciting experiences. The area is of archaeological interest and was constructed around 2,300 BCE. The site includes the Umm an-Nar tomb and examples of Bronze Age buildings. The area has connections to Mesopotamia and the Gulf region.
Tickets for the Sunset Yoga session start from AED 600, and Overnight Yoga starts from AED 800. Namaste.
